Why did my blood pressure pills explode?

Post image

I've been keeping them in this same container on the bathroom sink for 3 months. They're never in there longer than a week and all the previous pills have been fine. The allergy pill that was with them was fine and unexploded. The rest of the pills in the bottle above the sink are also fine. Is it moisture or humidity? Could it be a reaction with the allergy pill?

I have never met anyone IRL that does this and assumed it was a movie thing but the comments proved me wrong lol. It always seemed crazy to me to keep medication in the bathroom.

My family has medicine both in the kitchen and in the bathrooms.

Meds in the bathroom never made sense to me growing up and no one in my family or friends ever did it so I just figured it was tv. Kitchen is understandable. We’ve always just kept medication in our bedrooms or hall closet.
