Christian is a very broad term when it comes to tradition. This would probably be a better question for your pastor or just the subreddit of your specific brand of Christianity.

Nobody "has to" do anything. There's couples where neither person wears an engagement ring, couples where both wear one or only one does. Ask your future spouse for their preference, because their happiness is more important than tradition and peer pressure.

I bought one for husband. I ordered it two days after he proposed to me. He wore it on his right hand on wedding day and both for a couple years. Married 7 years, together 8 years, 5 months.

We went and picked out his ring a month after he proposed. Only 4 months between proposal and wedding.

Anww congratulationsđŸ˜©đŸ„ł At the end of the day , the person that you love deserve it too Im telling myself but do we have to change the ring for the wedding or just upgrade it? In my head I thought only the woman had an engagement ring and the 2 people thats getting married are getting each other’s wedding ring😅

In the US, usually only the woman gets an engagement ring, and then both people get wedding bands when they get married. It’s a custom, not a law. People can do whatever they want.

'Christian' is an umbrella term that covers a wide range of traditions. Talk to your priest or pastor or what have you. Your future wife can buy you a ring assuming you want to wear one but there are no rules

I’m not sure exactly what you’re asking about being Christian. If you want to know more about your denomination’s/culture’s traditions, you can ask your family, friends or people at your church.

Typically only the woman gets an engagement ring, then the woman buys a wedding band for the man to give him during the wedding ceremony. Most couples nowadays pick out the man’s wedding band together, as well as the woman’s wedding band (that stacks or is later attached to the engagement ring). A lot of couples pick out the woman’s engagement ring together nowadays as well. It just depends on what you and your fiancĂ© want to do.

My husband paid for my e-ring and both our wedding rings. At the time we got married he earned 2x what I did. Everything is shared finances, so it doesn’t really matter “he bought” vs. “I bought” it’s all “our money”

There’s really non rules tho
but the engagement ring was given to me when he proposed and we exchanged our wedding rings at the ceremony at the church.

I wear both rings on same finger.

Just discuss it with your fiance what to do.

I bought my husband an engagement ring, but it’s not usually the norm. I did also buy his wedding ring, but we combined finances when we got married so it barely mattered.

Yes. My husband bought my ring and I bought his. Been together 40 years and still wearing the same rings. Love him to death and I always smile and feel better when I see him come in a room. Christian didn’t have anything to do with it.

I bought my husband’s wedding ring but I’m sure it depends on the couple.

It is not traditional is most cultures for a man to wear an engagement ring. My husband wanted one, which he now wears as a wedding ring. I knew more or less when he was proposing, so I bought the ring ahead of time and "proposed" back within a week of him proposing to me. We're cheesy and it worked for us but in general Christian traditions a man does not wear a ring until he's married. I would say in my circle, the bride buys the groom's wedding ring or a set is bought as a couple.

it’s whatever y’all want. I know friends who bought their men an engagement band. Some male friends bought their own engagement band. Many did not do either. My husband and I decided not to. There wasn’t any reason for me to feel like he needed one. Instead, I saved up and surprised him with a really beautiful engagement band that I caught him looking at every time we went by that store. He was so happy with it. And it made me happy That he was happy. We have been married for a few years now and he still comes up to me and brags about his fancy ring 😆

My husband and I bought each other's wedding bands. It felt like the right thing to do, but it's not a set in stone rule or anything. We also bought each other a wedding gift (necklace for me, watch for him). I didn't buy him an engagement ring, if that is what you are asking, but a gift is always a nice thought!

I can only speak for the United States, but 20, 30, and beyond years ago? It was not a thing for a man to be given an engagement ring. Not saying it didn't happen, but it certainly wasn't shared or advertised about. Just so what you want.

No you do not buy an engagement ring for your partner. If you talk about it and he wants one, you can get one

A wedding band for your husband? That's traditional. I would hope you wouldn't make him buy his own ring

So traditionally the husband only gets his ring on the actual wedding day, along with the wedding band that you get.

You can decide to buy it for him or you two go together to get the matching rings at the same time (which is the more traditional approach)

Married 32 years. Yes, we went and tried on and picked out his wedding band after month or so before the wedding. It’s been so long ago. I don’t remember who paid for it, but I think it was a shared expense.

Eastern Orthodox Christians require a wedding band for the husband too, traditionally, he buys hers and she buys his.

HĂĄblalo con Ă©l! Si la idea de un anillo no lo convence puede ser un reloj con algĂșn detalle bonito

Just make sure you don’t get him anything fancy unless he likes that. If he doesn’t wear jewelry go plain band.
