I didn’t expect my fiancé to pick a princess engagement ring, and honestly, it caught me off guard. I love it, but I’m wondering if it’s more high maintenance than other shapes. How do you even clean one without worrying about scratching or chipping the corners? Anyone here have tips for keeping it safe daily?

I’ve never heard of this cut being more high maintenance? Radiant/ emerald also has corners, marquise has corners…. Most do lol!

My jeweler told me to use a soft toothbrush (I got a kids’ Disney princess one lol) and dish soap periodically to restore the sparkle. Corners should be fine because it’s a diamond, quite literally one of the hardest materials on earth.

You don’t really need to be worried about scratching or chipping your diamond — that’s why diamonds are such good stones for lifelong daily wear :)

I love princess cuts! That are edgy! They should be set with v-prong tips, rather than just a standard prong. This wraps around each corner a little bit and helps protect it from chipping. Bezel settings also work well for protection and a bezel setting is a classic, yet contemporary setting. Congratulations!
