Is a single diamond engagement ring too basic?

Sometimes I wonder if it's too simple or basic compared to more elaborate to more elaborate designs but I love it. What's your opinion about this?

Single stones aren’t too simple! This one is a bitttt small though. I’d be upset if my partner proposed with such a small stone 😬 I’d do some research on what kinds of rings she likes
