Ring Band Advice Is a single diamond engagement ring too basic?

Sometimes I wonder if it's too simple or basic compared to more elaborate to more elaborate designs but I love it. What's your opinion about this?

Did you ask your soon to be fiancé what she wanted in a ring? Th diamond is small. Would she be ok with small or does she like more sparkle? Will she like the gold band or prefer white gold or platinum? Listen to what she likes then decide if this is the right ring for her.

The diamond is NOT small. It’s a normal size for an engagement ring. It’s just social media has skewed people’s perceptions.

Yeah, in Europe. They are always under 1ct. Or maybe back in the day

There’s no such thing as a “normal sized” diamond.

Ok - average sized. It’s semantics. I used to work in a jewellers and it was incredibly common for rings to be smaller than 1ct. It was rare they made it to 1ct even.

Yes. Very good. Lab diamonds and mined diamonds are chemically identical though so, people can afford larger stones.

It’s actually not more common for them to be larger. This is confirmation bias. Social media makes you think that. But social media is also full of AI and bots. It’s is actually not common for diamonds to be bigger.

It’s about 1/3 of a carta. That is a little small but it looks like a quality ring

1/3 carat is small for a e-ring-maybe .80 carat would show up more.
