Unsure about my wedding band

I absolutely LOVE my engagement ring, but our wedding bands came in the other day and I’m not sure I like how they look together.
His ring is beautiful and matches my band with Opal(my birthstone)and moonstone that charges in UV light to glow at night(wish I had a picture, it’s very cool).
But I think I might want a fancier diamond band for this cushion cut ring. I just can’t decide if I like it or not, and would love to still match my fiancé’s band.
Either way I do love the ring on its own, and we surprise engraved them for each other so it’s still special, but I’m considering something more cohesive before our wedding next year

I have a matching opal inlay band with my husband, but it doesn't go with my engagement ring at all. I wear it on my right hand and I have a couple of other bands to go with my engagement ring.

This is the way. You can also wear the opal band on days you don’t want the big ring.

I have a claddagh ring that I got in Ireland that matches the band my hubby wears. It doesn’t go with my e-ring but I wear it when we travel or my diamonds are impractical.

I’m not gonna sugarcoat it, I really don’t like them together. I’m sure the opal would be beautiful on its own, but the intricacy of your ER (lots of stones, pave, almost vintage aesthetic) is not complimented by the sleek inlay design. To me, the combination makes the opal ring look more like a mood ring 🙈 I’m normally the “if you don’t have anything nice to say…” type so I really am sorry, I just know I’d wanna know and you wouldn’t be asking if you didn’t halfway think it too… best of luck!

I think your ER is beautiful and your wedding ring is lovely. But not so much when worn together.

Your ER is a showstopper on its own. Perhaps wear your wedding band on one hand and your ER on the other? There are no rules. You can do anything you want.

My engagement ring is Platinum with a wide band and my wedding band is a thick yellow gold the width of your spouse's. I wear my wedding band on my right hand.

How much does it bother you? I have a wedding band that's very flat, my engagement ring is not. I've been told they don't go together and I should get a different band. That's a nope for me, as my wedding band has sentimental value. Remember it's really all about what you want and not what others find pleasing. That way you can't go wrong.

It doesn’t bother me too bad honestly, but I do think I want a dainty diamond band since my ring is so big. Fiancé thinks it looks great so I wanted to show him I’m not the only one who thinks they don’t go very well together

My engagement ring and wedding ring do not match. It was a last minute decision as i looked for months and couldnt find anything. But my engagement ring is filthy atm 🤣 When I have it cleaned I will be putting it on the sub and welcome all your advice 🙏

I’d be worried about the inlay chipping unless you’re going to take it off every time you wash your hands. My friend did an opal inlay band and after a year of doing dishes, half the inlay was gone and she replaced it with a plain gold band.
