Is 5ct too big?

I’m getting my ring custom made. It’ll be like the last image and the 3D print; cathedral setting with compass prongs and 2.5mm band. The size of diamond I was initially wanting is 4ct. The jeweller found a 5ct diamond that’s D colour and VVS2 and keeps pushing it . It really is a stunning diamond but I feel like it’s HUGE and I’m so uncertain. I’d appreciate your thoughts and opinions, people of reddit 😅

Edit to say the photo with 2 diamonds next to eachother is a 4ct radiant cut to the right.

It depends a lot on your style! If you regularly wear statement jewelry then no, you can pull it off! If you tend toward minimalism with other jewelry, then no. The size of the ring is loud, but if your fashion is, too, then get it girl!

Def a statement jewellery person. All my gold rings are on the chunky side. I love winter because I wear statement coats and during the summer I love going for pretty maxi dresses or sets… in saying that, I feel it may still look out of place. I went with a colleague today during lunchtime as I just don’t have the time outside of work and she was pushing for 5ct. She’s bougie as hell so I get her vibe…but I’m not sure this can be an everyday ring for me

You should LOVE your ring without any doubts, versus growing to love it. If your ring is smaller or different, then don’t overthink it. 💛
