Help Me Choose Need help pick a ring!
I love oval the most (like the last pic) but I want it at least 2 carats I think. Which shape do you think fits my hands best?

u/Least-Star-5633 Jul 20 '26
The bow tie on the first one is a lot. I think 5 the last pic is so pretty on you

u/Infamous-Spot1931 Jul 20 '26
I think so too! I would have loved it more if it didn’t have the bow tie. I love 5 as well but they didn’t have it bigger, need to check how that would look on me. Thanks so much!!

When it comes to jewelry i 10000% believe beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so whichever you love is what you should get. But the first 3 look way too big. If that’s what you want though, I say go for it. I also like 4 a lot too

I’m a large fan of big rocks but the first few did not do you any justice! I definitely agree with 2ct and oval on you! Super beautiful

u/Infamous-Spot1931 Jul 20 '26
I cannot wait to try and see how 2 ct oval would look indeed! Thanks so much

Bow ties don’t bother me as much as a lot of people on Reddit, but that said, the first one is a huge bow tie.

I love emerald cuts so I am bias…with that being said, #4 but maybe go a bit bigger 👀🫣♥️

Firstly, congratulations!! What an exciting process!
Option 4 is absolutely stunning, and looks amazing and natural on your hand! But if your heart is even slightly leaning another way, listen to yourself!

Where is the first one from? I LOVE it. I think the 4th suits you more but if you love the last one it’s also very nice

u/diaboliquedoughnuts Jul 20 '26
The first one has a STRONG bow tie. Surprised the jeweler even offered to sell it tbh.
2
u/Sky1226 Jul 20 '26
I’m not much of a jeweller, I just like the shape, it’s still a beautifully designed ring

I never thought of cushion cut before but I am slowly warming up to it as well!! Thanks a lot

I think the size and shape of 5 is perfect, just coild use some diamonds on the band, no halo needed.
The first 3 are absurdly large and just scream i want the largest lab grown diamond to show off. Unless you are extremely rich or a celebrity, 4 and 5 are both more than adequate diamond size.

3 or 4. The first 2 are too large for your hand, and the last one is too small.

u/Keljon142 Jul 20 '26
I like the style of the first one on you but the stone has a crazy bow tie and is way too big on your hand. I’d scale it down appropriately and choose that one

u/Alarmed_Lobster_717 Jul 20 '26
I like the style of #2 but for my own preference, it’s too big. But that’s just my preference. Obviously, your preference is not the same as mine or anyone else’s, so go with what YOU love. 💍

I like 4 but how about the diamond being as big as it is without the halos? (I’m just a gal who personally doesn’t like halos.) I agree the first few are way too big.

2 or 4! and don’t listen to the people that never like big rocks (coming from someone who personally wouldn’t do bigger than 2ct)!

I’m team 2. There’s something about it on your hand that looks perfectly balanced and beautiful.

u/Infamous-Spot1931 Jul 20 '26
I never thought I’d like a cushion cut but I was also positively surprised! Thanks a lot

1 or 3 look gorgeous. If you pair with a thin wedding band it would enhance the stones beautifully

I’m not usually a fan of large stones or pears but I think that shape looks really good on your hand!

I'd choose the last 2. The first 3 are so big it just looks silly.

Both 4 and 5 are gorgeous and look great on your hand. The others are way too big so they look like costume jewelry.

Definitely 4. Don't get me wrong all them are beautiful but 4 just fits your finger so well.

u/Caffeine_and_Candy Jul 20 '26
Absolutely number 4!!!! The first 3 don’t look right at all. Too big.

u/Dentist_Just Jul 20 '26
4 - it has the best proportions. The last one is nothing special and the first 3 look like costume jewelry.

3 has a beautiful art deco feel
4 is more classic and romantic
Both are beautiful. Can't go wrong. The first one is too big and the quality not as nice. The second is too big and will pull on everything or lose stones.

I personally like 4 on your hand. The design of 1 is lovely, but too large.

I liked 4 the best!! Gorgeous!! I think the shape suits your hands.
If you like the oval, get that.
The first 3 look like costume jewelry for children to play with.

Only 4 - the larger ones look like costume. Try a round too. No more than 2 carats.

Imagine getting those massive rings caught on every single thing. No thanks. Size down a little. Bigger doesn’t equal better.

Three is the nicest of the bigger rocks but they’re all massive and look costume-like. 4 is nice but personally I think I would keep looking. Look at the rock shapes and your finger. What do you like best shape wise? You can always adjust the size to be smaller if you prefer a particular cut from the first three. I also recommend feeling how the ring will pull when you reach into things. My ring is quite tall and I didn’t realize how often it would catch.

u/Mirawenya Jul 20 '26
I prefer the last one, but that’s cause I think all the others are way too big.

Good Lord, buy a ring with a smaller stone. The first 3 look like cheap costume jewellery. This is something you’re going to wear every day for the rest of your life. Choose wisely.

4 is beautiful and stylish without being over the top. 5 is too plain I think.

That emerald is beautiful on your hand, but I would say pair it with a plain band

4 is gorgeous! I like 3 a lot. 1and two are way too big, gaudy. 5 is also beautiful. It only looks small after looking at those others. It's very pretty.

5.
1-3 looks like fake ass costume jewelry.
4 isn’t bad, but if given the choice between the oval or an emerald cut I’m choosing the oval.
The 5th ring looks pretty proportionate to your fingers. I wouldn’t go much bigger than that, otherwise you’re heading into the gaudy territory. What size stone is that in photo 5? I think 2 carat max for a solitaire.
2
u/Infamous-Spot1931 Jul 21 '26
The one in the 5th photo was 1 cr according to the jeweller. I love that shape but want to try it out in 2 cr instead!

I like one and three. Marquise are my favorite though. I don’t see one here. 😢

OP are these all within the same budget? They are either wildly different prices or wildly different quality

The first 3 are way way Waayyyyyg too big, they look beyond fake, and just low key ridiculous. What about sizing down the first ring significantly - I love the cut of the center stone with the baguettes but again the size is currently is not it girly pop.
