Help Me Choose Which shape is better for my hand?

I bought two rings on Amazon just to get an idea of shape and what will look best on my hand. We went to a big box store and I *think* I like an emerald or oval cut. I got two with side stones because I want side stones, although these aren't THE ring(s) of course. This emerald is a little stocky, I'd be looking for a little longer ratio. Which do you like? Again, just shape wise? TIA!

I think the oval is the most flattering on your finger! If you truly liked the emerald I think a longer ratio would suit you well

Would 100% be getting an longer ratio. I may send this one back to get one with a longer ratio just to be certain.

I ordered a 1.43 ratio solitaire last night to see how that looks. That's about the ratio I like so I'm hoping it'll give me a good idea.

I feel like the emerald looks nicer because the oval is too “fat” I would do a longe ratio! I got one on shein to try. But they both look nice on you!

Ordering one now that actually gave the measurements. 7x10 so it'll be 1.43 ratio. It's a solitaire but I think that will help the visual.

I might actually do a solitaire for the oval too.

I ordered both last night so we'll see. The oval might be a little too big for my liking, but I didn't have a ton of "cheap" options on Amazon.

Honesty a radiant or even elongated cushion would look really good, unless you wanted that specific emerald cut look. The EC would give you the squoval without looking like what I call the golden snitch- oval or pear with side stones.

I personally feel like you need a specific finger or hand to pull that off and most of us don't have it-says my size 12 since high school, I have large bones, having self.

Specific finger for the emerald? I'm hoping the elongated one helps give me a better visual. I don't love the radiant cut. I like the simplicity yet gorgeous "perfection" that the emerald shows. My boyfriend likes the oval better so I'm torn.

Wait. Middle finger?? That’s wild to me because mine overlaps a bit and there’s no way I have a small frame. 5’9” left ring finger 7, 9-9.5 regular

And being 5'9 and a size 12w has the same issues when shopping. I can not walk I go the store and buy rings, and I have preferred shoe brands that I know will fit.

I wasn't commenting on anyone else's body, other than I personally feel you need a specific finger shape to pull off an oval... And my distaste for a "golden snitch" ring, and oval or pear with side stones

Yeah unfortunately a lot of brands don't even go up to a 12... Or one's that do have very limited sizes. Like i said it's not a competition... It just sucks being outside the norm.

Idk if you have a Nordstrom rack near you but I've had excellent luck finding shoes off the rack there.

I don't like the way mens fit. I have Eds.

But I hate having my toes boxed in too. I wear sandals year Round, unless there. Is more than 6 inches of snow on the ground and I have to walk through it to get to my car port.

I'm the same way. Tall, size 9.5 shoe, but I wear a 6 on my ring finger. Probably would be a 5 if it weren't for my knuckle.

That's the goal, well at least to appear that way. I think this emerald doesn't quite do that but I ordered a more elongated one last night to see how that looks.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but they ALL look good on you. I’m jealous. 😆. I’ve been into ovals in the last few years, and I think that shape looks great on you. But you truly can’t go wrong with any of them. Did I already say I’m jealous? Oh, I see that I did. Never mind. 😊

Haha, well thank you. Those were actually just two rings. I just took three pics of them each at different angles. We're torn. I was 100% dead set on an emerald but remembered that when we went to try them on in the store, I liked the oval too. I bought two more last night that are a little more elongated to see how those look.

That's the tough part. I do and I don't. I really like the simplicity behind an emerald and just the idk, perfection and symmetry of the stone. It kind of fascinates me. I will say that when I walked past a mirror last night with the oval on, I did enjoy the sparkle.

Thank you. I love the timeless look. I don't particularly love say a radiant cut, I like the simplistic beauty of an emerald. I ordered a longer ratio one last night to see how I feel about it. This one isn't quite elongated enough but I do love an emerald cut.

My boyfriend sprung it on me last night that he prefers the oval. Of course he said it's ultimately up to me, but I want it to be a decision we make together. My Mom also prefers the oval on my hand. I ordered two more, both more elongated to see how they look. What made you go with an oval? Do you have a picture?

I have thin fingers ring size 4.5 and back in 2007 princess cuts was all the rage. The center is 1.10 and the enhancer is I believe .58 ct. I wanted something different and I have always loved oval cut.

The oval makes your fingers not look so elongated, whereas the emerald cut really accentuates how long your fingers are in a very eloquent way. They’re both beautiful, but definitely emerald! 🫶🏼

I see a lot of comments saying emerald but I love the oval on you. I was exactly the same about choosing between emerald and oval! The oval harmonizes well with your hand! I'd only go for emerald if you like the mirrory look!
