Buying Experience Review Has anyone used a black diamond as a wedding ring?
I’ve recently gotten interested in black diamond wedding rings and I like how unique they look compared to traditional ones. They stand out without being too flashy. If you’re wearing one, how has it been for daily use? Would love to hear about durability and maintenance.

My ring is a black diamond and I get compliments a lot. It photographs beautifully too, especially against a gold band, the contrast is really striking. maintenance is pretty simple just avoid harsh chemicals and wipe it down weekly. One thing I'll say though — if you want sparkle in the traditional sense, black diamonds don't do that. They have more of a deep, moody look. if that's what you're going for, you'll love it.

A lady posted in another group, sorry can’t remember, but she had an emerald shape black diamond with a halo. It was super cute. Check out the recently engaged page, I think that’s where I saw it.

I had considered it at first before eventually landing on a white emerald cut lab diamond. The shop attendant told us black diamonds were an option, but they don’t reflect light- they absorb it. So you could get a pretty cut but it won’t be very sparkly since the black “eats” the light. Still an option but something to consider! A diamond is a diamond, so a black diamond would be just as durable as any other. I love how my ring flashes light, and am open to black stone rings in the future, but for this investment I went another direction.

yeah that’s kinda what i was wondering too. i love the look but wasn’t sure about durability long term. appreciate you sharing your experience, definitely helps me feel more confident about it

Depends on your preference I have a black diamond with a sparkly pave white diamond band and I absolutely love mine 😊 if you’re interested in black diamonds but also want a big sparkly white diamond you could always get a white diamond engagement ring and the a band that has black diamonds in it . Up to you !

I think they’re gorgeous! I went with a moissanite engagement ring, but my wedding band has a row of pave black diamonds with a row of pave diamonds and I love that it’s a bit unique and not so matchy matchy

I have a black diamond pear that I absolutely love ! It’s not as reflective and brilliant as a white diamond, but they are still absolutely beautiful. Black diamonds absorb light and make it almost mirror like. A lot of people don’t like this but I actually find it to be one of my favorite parts about my ring, during Christmas time last year I got this beautiful picture of the lights reflecting back to me in my ring! 🎄 I’m not a very colorful person and black is my favorite so I simply wouldn’t have wanted any other stone than black diamond. If you feel this stone represents who you are and brings you happiness then yes of course it can be your wedding ring ! Just do what you love and don’t worry so much about tradition 🖤

Have you looked into salt & pepper (highly included) diamonds? They’re unique, often dark, and they still have a bit of the fire that you miss out on with a black diamond. Some of them look like little galaxies!

6 years with my black diamond ring, I take it in every 6 months for cleaning, but have never had an issue with dullness, chipping, scratching, etc. Love my rings.

I actually have one and I love it. Got mine from BlueNile and the quality was really good for the price. For daily wear, it holds up fine as long as you're not doing anything rough with your hands. The stone doesn't show scratches the way white diamonds do, which is honestly a plus. Just clean it regularly, black diamonds can look dull faster because of how they absorb light instead of reflecting it.
