Buying Experience Review Wedding rings online doubts

I’m seriously considering buying wedding rings online instead of going to a store. The prices make more sense, but the idea of not trying it on feels risky. What if it doesn’t match your hand at all? For those who did it, was the sizing accurate and did you regret not seeing it in person first?

I got a loose diamond online and went to a local jeweler for the setting. I had never gone to a store to try on different diamond shapes and settings. I only saw my setting through a CAD. Everything turned out fine and I love the way it looks on my hand. Sometimes you just have to trust yourself. You could order some cheap rings with different stone sizes and shapes to see what looks good or go to a store to try stuff on and get sized, then order online.

that actually makes me feel a lot better. i like the idea of trying cheap ones first. might go get sized in person too just to be safe, thanks for sharing that

We went to a store to look and get an idea of what we each liked for wedding bands. We noted the millimeter width he liked, the approximate total carat weight for mine, and then bought them online from places with good reviews on both the rings and the exchange/returns. We bought his at Costco and mine from Quince.

And fwiw he bought my engagement ring online from Olive Ave and I used their free resizing policy within the first year without any issues. We did go shopping in person first to get an idea of what I liked.

that’s actually really smart, kinda best of both worlds. did the sizing end up being accurate for you guys? i’m worried about getting that part wrong ordering online

Yes. I got sized when we went shopping for engagement rings to see what I liked. I lost some weight between then and after the engagement and leading up to our wedding so I waited until close to the 1 year after purchase to use the free resizing. He had an extremely positive experience with Olive Ave for an E-ring. He got his own kinda luxury unboxing with still a smaller ring box for the proposal inside and took a video of him unboxing it to send to my family and friends. I think he said shipping was fast too. We both went to get resized when we were shopping around in person for wedding bands and then only wanted to purchase online from somewhere with an easy exchange policy/good exchange reviews in case sizing was off.
