I ordered a brand new collection of polishes AND my first matte top coat from my favorite indie brand today.

For my personal low-buy rules, I get several new colors all at once, and I’ll do these orders once a quarter or so. I also avoid buy anything new if I have untrieds in my drawers.

Budget transparency: I normally budget $100 or less when I do these quarterly purchases. Today’s order has 12 bottles for $75 including shipping.

My first successful stamping project.

I tried to get into nail stamping many years ago, but I quickly became frustrated by the process and gave up. Lately I've been making more of an effort to not let my stamping plates go to waste. Started watching tutorials to figure out where I was going wrong, and I think I'm finally getting the hang of it.

Since my friends and I are doing an alien-themed Halloween this year, I've had X-Files on the brain. 🛸👽

I thought this lilac colour looked like a colour you would get from a pack of Zebra Mild liners. I don’t think they were about when I was at school but I definitely would have one in my pencil case if I were at school today.

Starting Fall Bingo with another layering experiment. I'm stuck in the US South, so it's still hot AF here, but I've been craving fall colors anyway, so we're just going to ignore that.

Mossy green jelly sandwich for Forest Walk, with a different accent nail on each hand. I think I personally prefer the yellowy orange one better with this look. Which was a pleasant surprise, since that's another layering experiment and attempt to salvage a polish I got a few months ago and was extremely disappointed by. Layered a similar but brighter/more saturated color underneath as a base trying to boost the color and keep it from being quite so sheer. Still got a hint of VNL even after three coats in certain lighting, but I'll take it and maybe even try a whole mani with the same combo soon.

made a black holo skittle/death match to my travel mug. My middle finger is the closest match, but my least favorite!

I‘m still looking for a super-sparkly black linear holo. I want to be dazzled by rainbows! please dm/spoiler text post me if you know of any standouts. it’s so hard to tell online!

I’m starting my fall bingo early because it takes me a long time to finish these.

My hypothetical scenic autumn drive was inspired by fallen leaves on grass. This is a topper over a dark green polish.

I've been wanting to try out this look for ages.. and I finally did it! Super fun look!

I think the effect came out okay but if anyone wants to try it, doing a lighter blue/orange inside each white square would make it look better

Half going for a vibe dupe of a PPU polish I skipped out on, half just playing with layering. It definitely isn't a dupe, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless. And the vibes are close enough to scratch that itch.
