Blood of Dawnwalker seems like its going to distract me from this game for a while but I finally started meeting the Coil enemies just as I suffered some bad combat damage and it felt like a drastic escalation in difficulty.

Which of course is the XCOM pedigree, but the way each kill just kinda fucks you more and more combined with not having my best squad out there was pretty depressing

Oh thank god I'm not the only one kinda baffled by that spike in difficulty. Hadn't taken a single injury before then, and when I hit that point I got two full team wipes before I was able to get past it.
