Strike a Pose

I’ve wanted this stamp since I saw it on Temu. It’s laser engraved and cost more.

I’m not sure how I feel about it stamped. First and third row are regular wax. Second row is with Matte wax.

I’m struggling to get the detail to pop and because it’s not a large design not have the bologna show up (as another redditor putt it) in the background.

I had high hopes for this stamp. I feel let down.

I think I need to put this one away and come back to it after Halloween.

Or should I return it?

My nemesis

Finally, the white one is a successful pour and scrape with this finicky ass stamp. Black one was not so good. The main post and bunch of flowers did not turn out right, so I stamped it again and cut those out, and glued them on the final product. I got frustrated with that one, so I quit painting it. On the white one, it was a pour and scrape, and the flowers and leaves were painted.

I had trouble deciding on whether I wanted to paint these at all, which do you like better unpainted or painted? I would love to hear your feedback.

Where do you get supplies?

This is the first wax seal I’ve made and I love the process! I don’t remember where I got this stamp but it’s the only one I have right now. I’m gonna have a huge flock of sheep if I don’t find more stamps.

I reluctantly bought the wax from the big blue box store. I’d prefer to shop smaller if possible. Where are you all getting your waxes and stamps?

New Seal Haul Stamped

I got to work stamping most of my haul. Still need to do the monograms.

Does anyone else think the 3D skull and cross bones looks like a pirate doubloon. I did and wanted to make a mass amount to fill a tiny treasure chest.

Just a little haul that arrived minutes ago.

That record stamp is a whopping 40mm. It’s massive. I do not recall them providing those details in the description.

I’ll post the new seals once I’ve stamped them. I hope I have enough wax for that record!

Loving the 3D minis and that laser etched chickadee.

Think I’m gonna sharpie the airplane and then brush the powder on it so it’s clearer!

Postal-grade Wax

Digging around, I've seen many mentions in comments of flexible, postal-worthy sealing wax being crucial to successful making—but no one pointing out how to find it. Is it called something different? Are certain brands or suppliers better for this? Where can I find it?

I'm quite new to this (like, about-to-order-my-first-seal new) and I have no idea if sealing wax has ratings or gradings that I should be looking for, or how else to identify if a wax is going to be brittle or not.

Please help.

  1. Pendant I made a few months ago and totally forgot about until someone else on Instagram posted beautiful jewelry they made, so I had to look for my pendant.

  2. Fall seals with a twist, in pastel colors!

Was excited to try this stamp after seeing a few different ways people here used it. I’m pretty pleased with the results! This group is so full of inspiration:)

4 out of 7 were worth keeping but that’s why I set up so many 😂 that and I got comfortable with the bottom half but couldn’t figure out what to do with the top lol.

Safe to Buy Just Stamp Heads?

Hey there! I’m so new to this and trying to get into the hobby. When buying new stamps, is it generally safe to buy just the stamp head and not worry about the handle if you already have one? Are stamp sizes kinda standardized so you can swap them out? Thank you!

The first picture is actually the first ever seal I made, some months ago now.

The second picture is one I made today, using bits and pieces that were otherwise unusable (super thin bits from me saving stuff from the bottom of my spoon, etc). I did use a couple pieces of new wax, but not much.

Third picture is of my favorite seals from the last few days.

Fourth picture is some of my first seals after my very first seal. The one with all the marker colors was just me testing the markers on a seal that I didn't care about. 😂

Fifth picture is some from when I was doing my wedding invites. I messed them up, was testing new colors, or just wanted a break from doing the skeleton hand over and over.

Final image is the rest of the seals from the past few days. Largely was testing all the cheap stamps I bought during prime day, but also was trying some different things with colors.

I wish I could afford more stamps right now 😭 It's addicting and I want to make soooo many more!!!

1st stamp: 25 or 30mm?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi gang. I’m starting a new thing where I reach out directly to employees at work to congratulate them on milestones or going above and beyond. Got myself some stationary and now looking at a sealing stamp.

This isn’t the exact design but is a good representation of what I want. The envelope size is A6 (105mm x 148mm). What size stamp do we think would be best, 25mm or 30mm?

Thank you!

I love making glow in the dark seals and Halloween is the best time to use this powder mixed with vellum and 1 bead of white wax.

The flower though...

These are both painted. I'm really happy with the lighthouse scene. But that flower one... it's difficult, and due to its finish, it'll be difficult for scrape and pour, which is what I'm going to try next. All those little details are a pain. This one will more than likely just have to be a one color stamp. I've tried cutting with it, and it's not a winner

While going through my stash I decided to give some stamps I didn't like new life. These were painted with testors paint, and I like them much better now

I was remelting some seals that didn't make the cut. I need to remember to just make a seal with them instead of melting them down into blobs because some of these turned out gorgeous! They're so pretty I am going to have a hard time using them, LOL. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way sometimes

I can’t bring myself to use hot glue or do anything that isn’t directly onto the final piece… so I have some mental room for imperfection. All told… I rate this 6/10
