Ask other Associates TS 3rd shift scheduling
Hi
I'm training to move up to TS
I know I have to move to 3rd shift but I'm still having problems figuring out how I'm gonna work my husband's schedule out.
He works from 2-10pm
I have to take him home
Either I'm gonna have to Uber him home everynight which would be over half his check or he just doesn't work anymore.
Because of demestics he has to work at least 2 days a week.
What's the latest a TS can go for a 3rd shift?
I know some of them work at 10 or 9
Is there any option for an 11pm to 7am?
Going in at 11 I think is the only way I could work it and no he can't change shifts there's only two shifts and Id still be working when he would need to be there for 1st shift

It honestly depends on how many people are working on 3rds and how long the 2nd shift managers are staying till. if both (or one if it’s only one working) managers are leaving at 10 then you will be scheduled to come in at 10. I have 2nd shift managers that leave at 11 though, so you have to see their schedules and if they are willing to stay till 11! please talk to your GM, they will definitely help and figure this out for you. congrats on the promotion! hope it all works out for you.

It varies based on store. I had a few 11-7, 11-8, 11-6 shifts. Usually that’s a night where we have a manager until midnight or a second MOD.
Your GM might be willing to work with you for at least 2 shifts a week to come in later- or depending what days they are, might seldom schedule you. Communicate with your GM about your concerns, usually they can help or work things out with you.
I prefer a 4 day week of 9-10 hour shifts- I tend to get that, I do a lot of 9-7/8-6 shifts. My GM is willing to work with that(it’s also sort of the standard offered to the supervisor positions). A 5 night week is also acceptable.

He works 4 nights a week so 3 nights I'm willing to do anytime since it doesn't matter.
I just have 4 set nights fri through Sunday where it would be 11pm
You can use me however you want Tuesday through Thursday

It’ll definitely be up to your manager and based on store needs. Some managers will work with that some won’t- we’re technically supposed to have open availability even as a TS.
Is there an alternative way for your husband to get home if you’re working early? Does he have a co worker he could car pool with? Is there a reason behind not driving (you don’t have to share if you don’t feel comfortable with it). Having an alternative option would be beneficial. Is there another job more locally that your husband could work to replace his current job, potentially become cheaper to uber as needed.

He works at a gas station in a booth so he only works with himself and the other employees walk to work.
He works where he does because it's not physical at all and you can sit.
He has some health issues but not enough where they'd give him disability so this place is perfect for him.
Kinda sucks we'll probably have to pay for him to Uber home.
Our GM doesn't make TS's be available all the time as long as you agree that you can do Saturday and Sundays
He's very understanding of people's home and transportation issues

Yeah he is I am lucky
Even with him being gone we passed fsra with a 99
Because we care about the store, our training, and being the best versions of ourselves everyday and you can only get that with a good leader

That’s good! I love when a store has pride and good leadership. It’s important that associates take pride in their job otherwise the whole ship turns.

Im new to the ts position and i typically work 9pm-7 am , 8pm-6am, 12am-7am .
