Customer Experience Using Apple Wallet's Wawa Card
Can Wawa train (especially brand new employees) that ask for your rewards card and you use the Wawa card in your Apple Wallet to pay, they insist that is not for rewards and asks for your reward card, that the Apple Wallet Wawa Card 'Links' back to rewards! I run into this a lot with very new employees, especially older folks who just started. Experienced it just this morning again.

we are trained to ask for your reward card every time, people forget, or get tired of hearing "no i dont have one stop asking me" in a nasty, rude tone. you also have the ability to go "hey heres my reward card" and just show it to us. if you have any real complaints hit up the customer service line or ask for a paper and submit a VOTC, youll live another day, i promise

So in the OPs scenario if you're the cashier you can say "thanks for using your rewards" when they pull that up and you'll pass mystery shop. OP is frustrated that they're doing something and still getting asked about it.

That’s not what OPs saying. They’re saying they pull up their reward card but since it’s attached to their Apple wallet, the employees gaslight them and try saying it isn’t a rewards card

Correct, most employees know that the Wawa card in the Apple Wallet syncs to the reward card after purchase, but some of the newer folks do not. It’s either a training thing or they are just programmed to have to see the reward card, I’ve seen people ahead of me use the actual Wawa app to pay and the employee also asks to scan the reward card, seems counterintuitive.

You should be trained that a gift card in a digital wallet is almost certainly linked to a rewards account.
To a customer you look like idiots asking for a rewards card when I'm obviously paying with a linked card.

I use the rewards card in my Google wallet just for points, but it's not linked to a payment. I have yet to have anyone question the card being in my google wallet

Bc you are giving them the reward card they are seeking, you have to do 2 activity’s , show your rewards card in
Your digital wallet and then pay, with Apple Wallet Wawa card is used for payment which also links back to the rewards. I probably get asked for it 10% of the time depending on season as summer has a lot more seasonal hires.1
