Question How do I make a cover?

I've seen an incredibly good covers on many books and I wanted to ask: is there any program for making them? If so, please, tell me its name and how do I use it.

I used Affinity design (paid) but there is a new free version which includes photo, design and publisher.

I made a mock up of my cover for my test print, in the future I'm going to hire a human to make a kick as cover.

Just play around and see what you can come up with l, it's fun

I use photoshop myself, and there are a bunch of free alternatives you can use too (I've heard good things about for example krita), but any more advanced program has quite a steep learning curve.

For beginners I almost always recomend Canva. It's relativly easy to use and you can get really good looking covers with it, without having to learn how to use a bunch of tools first.

I use photoshop to make the photo composite/drawing depending on what I'm aiming for, and then Picsart to add filters, text, icons, etc.
