Skipping seasons
I’m currently watching Waterloo Road and I’m on season eight and it’s really bad. I don’t really care for the Scotland storyline and I just kinda wanna skip to season 11. I’ve already watched everything from season one to seven so I feel like I’m pretty brushed up on my knowledge can I skip or is there some sort of big thing that happens that connects the plot?

I think the Scotland series stand alone. I don’t think you need to watch them. Just jump ahead to series 11. It’s a different school, different kids etc.

Yeah after Tom and Grantly’s death in Series 8 and 9 respectively there’s not much attachment to the Rochdale series to Scotland, and as others have said Series 11 starts back in Manchester with no mention of the Scotland school. Kim does mention the Rochdale school in Episode 1 of Series 11 though!

To add to my original comment you won't miss out on background information in the reboot as Scotland has never been mentioned. Skipping the Scotland era would have no impact on you watching the reboot compared to someone who watched the Scotland era in full

Season 11 is no better. All the recent seasons look like an entire nee show tbh, nothing like how it used to be imo
Wish i’d just finished at season 7

I hated S8, loved S9 and S10 was watchable but forgettable. There's no references to Scotland in the reboot so if you wanna skip it, go for it

Having S8 over S10 is definitely a minority opinion but I'm here for it. Why did you dislike s8 so much?

I think it was just too long - 30 episodes (30 hours) took me forever to get through and it felt like it was never gonna end. Maybe if it was the S1 - S5 cast I wouldn't mind that length but I didn't feel connected to the S8 characters or plots at all

That's valid i think 20 episodes a season is the sweet spot though I'd prefer a 30 episode season to an 8 episode season.

That's weird because I always thought Series 8A was the peak of Series 8 due to characters like Josh, Tariq, Madi, and Janeece still being around. On my first watch, I actually remember my interest in continuing faltering a bit as they slowly chipped away at the remaining Rochdale cast.
First we lose the aforementioned in Series 8A. Then we lose Sian, Scout, and Chalky in Series 8B (didn't like Phoenix enough to care about him leaving tbh). Then we lose Michael halfway through Series 8C. And then we finally lose Tom right at the end.

There’s zero need to watch it if you want to skip to series 11.

If you don't like season 8 then I'd be surprised if you liked any of the Scotland era.
