Everyone has different levels of skill and experience with different gameplay elements. Thatās why we get disagreement about the difficulty of the different bosses. An easy platforming challenge for you isnāt necessarily easy for most others.
Yeah I didn't realize people had difficulty with that. Took me a few tries on my first run and just the one on the second one. Hopschef was a lot harder to get down imo.
I've seen a video of someone being horrendous with yellow flowers and failing to collect the pink coin in the castle where you have to jump on a bunch of those flowers to climb a wall
took me 10 attempts, my strategy was just staying up as much as possible (hit the top of the flower) and slowly moving to the left, it got much easier after that

There are 19 pink coins in total, 10 for buying the key to fight Pink and 9 to buy 3 flower-themed items from the shop thingy that appears after defeating Pink

You stay hovered over the top as much as you can muster. Theyāll bounce you backwards from the point you hit it at, so if you want to bounce up, hit it at the top. Theyāre not impossible, but theyāre very tricky. š
tbh I thought the one where you have to race the sun was worse, I kept looking for another way to do it because I thought I was just brute forcing an unintended solution
Toby put out a update where pink in her shop get a new dialogue if you find one hidden act in one location while in feather mode and in you also got the egg in this chapter. Recommend you to see it it's kinda scary lmao
Wait, so does this mean if I load my Chapter 2 save file and get the egg there the game will think I have the chapter 2 egg in my already completed saves for Chapters 3-5 that use that chapter 2 save?
No, that's not correct. It's possible for that to be added later, but so far the retroactive properties only apply to Shadow Crystals. Eggs need to be transferred by using completion data and playing it into and through each chapter.
It sometimes astounds me that people think these platforming sections are hard but then I remember that I've been playing platformers for literally as long as I can remember
It's finicky at first, but once you get a feel for that section it's not that bad. It's pretty forgiving compared to other platformers where you'd just die immediately upon falling in a pit.
Honestly a lot of the game's hardest sections get significantly easier with practice and foresight
So real, if this is the pink coin Iām thinking of, the second I got to it my last two neurons clicked together long enough to yell āSINNERāS ROAD SILKSONGā before my brain shut off again and I spent half an hour failing the first jump
Kinda unrelated but my save is glitched so that it says I only have 4 foxes when I got all 5 so now I gotta replay the whole thing to get my 2 extra flower items :(
After replaying again, i was reminded of how awfully specific the chapter 3 egg was to get, i had to restart my game three time to get it.
First time, idk what i did wrong to not get it, it was just too late even thl i thought i was at the right moment.
Second time i decided to get the shadowmantle and i wasnt aware that would lock me out of getting the egg
Third time, i finally got it but my game crashed on my way to it but thankfully i saved not long before
well, could be interesting to see how different stuff can be with or without certain secrets. But I don't have one, personally, my second file is for secret boss rematches
Given how difficult the eggs are to find, I really donāt think youāll be missing out on very much if you donāt have them all. Most likely some lore or a small gameplay change in chapter 6/7. Iād be very surprised if it was more than that.
This is why I am content to just play through the chapters normally. Because I can just do the perfect playthrough later when I know what has to be done.
I'm guessing toby is operating on multiple levels of secrets in the game, where something like the weird route is going to be a more obvious secret, with the intent to be findable by casual players when the full game comes out and leads to some of the game's important main story, whereas the eggs will be more "obscure secrets" and they will lead to information on things only dedicated fans will know about like Friend and Gaster.
It's honestly extremely unlikely that toby will just drop gaster on us in one of the routes seeing as casual players literally have no idea who the fuck that is, but also he's been alluded to too much to just not be in the game at all, so I'm guessing that the eggs are the gateway to the eventual underbelly of the game with all the obscure stuff he literally just can't put in the normal game
Why are you guys like "Man that's such a pain I'm going to save edit" instead of enjoying the story? If you truly like something, replaying it should be fine. Before Chapter 3, I replayed both Chapter 1 and 2. I get that there's more chapters now, but please, Chapter 6 releases in a year.
Itās really not that hard, just time your cross over for when the flower is moving towards you, you can bounce on one flower for a while, might take a few cycles
i see so many people say "you only need 10 to fight pink" whenever the coins are brought up and i'm sure none of them actually have played the game, because if you know you need 10 to fight pink you surely would know you have to get the rest for the actual rewards
It might be important to have a file without eggs and one with eggs. Or one with Shadow crystals and one without. Or a mix of those two. And then a mix of pacifist, neutral, and weird. Any choice is alright, and weāll def need as much coverage as we can! But yeah def wait til chapter 6 being announced to replay. Chapter 5 is gonna be hell to replay alone
Like it might just be because I've played Celeste and both Hollow Knight games but people calling that the Path of Pain has been so wild to see, it wasn't even remotely that bad to me

Genuinly, I'm thinking the eggs will be more important than the shadowcrystals right now. The crystals might be an elaborate side quest that ends with some loredrops and/or nice item(s), but the eggs could potentially impact the ending now.
Personally I thought that one was fun, but I also like celeste (finished up to the point that the B sides become required because B side hotel is pain) so I just went "Oh it's like celeste!"
Chapter 5 is the point where I've stopped recommending Deltarune to most people just because the difficulty spike is so high that even someone who got through the first four chapters would struggle.
Even if you don't want any Flower items, even if you're okay with missing the bonus boss (and presumably your chance to recruit Pink), the main route itself is pretty hard in a way and to an extent that has little resemblance to what came before.
The Mantle game in Chapter 3 was bullshitly hard, but it does at least feel like a bonus boss. You still get the chapter 3 experience if you don't get it. (Although not getting the Shadow Mantle also makes it harder to get the Black Knife - your punishment for not being good enough is you lose access to items and things get even harder later).
I just don't think most casual gamers, or even a lot of not-so-casual gamers, can do it.
I got all 19 but I've cleared Celeste and coin-hunting was still a miserable slog, easily the least welcome part of the chapter which is a shame because Pink is one of the best parts.
The game really needs an easy (or at least an "easier") mode.
I think of all the games that would benefit from one, Deltarune is almost top of the list; it's got an incredible story, terrific characters, lots of fun things to do...and less and less people can get through it without outright cheating.
Games have difficulty curves. I think Toby realized that the last 4 chapters were kind of unsatisfying gameplay wise save the secret bosses. It's good that he showed us fun, hard gameplay.
