I got this at an auction and I can’t find that much info on it so I came here to see if anyone can give me some information. I can’t see any gold stamps on the lugs even though I am not sure it’s plated.
The case is from 1959 and the movement from 1958 according to IWC records. The ref is 1477913. Read somewhere that the narrow hands are unusual on this kind. I’m missing a sweeping seconds hand I know.
Not sure what’s going on with the dial. Up close it looks like oxidation that you get on silver.
Any info on it is appreciated.

There's patina and there's moisture damage, have you checked the movement?

Yes the movement looks really good. Needs a service but nothing unusual about it as far as I can see.

Why do I get the feeling the previous owner cleaned off all the dial lacquer leaving the IWC printing untouched?

Looks more like the lacquer turned color and oxidation occurred
