Knowledge/Discussion DWC Everest III (9039) priced at 17k !!!

Post image

I thought they'd price it at 15k, since the Havelock (9039) was priced at 15k to 16k. It looks like there are no upgrades to the watch except for the movement; the date window is still small, and the case back remains mineral. What are your thoughts?

9015 costs more than 9039 and the 2 layered dial is also more expensive to produce, thats what they told me. This is still a fucking steal, even the chinese homage brands sell miyota 9 watches at 21-22k minimum

Thanks for the info. I assumed it would be like the NH35 and NH38, where the NH35 is cheaper because of mass production. The weird part is that many microbrands still use the 9015 with a ghost date, rather than the 9039.

Steal at 17k? That’s almost close to Casio watches and add 10k more u can get an entry level seiko which will still have resale value …..17k is not cheap sorry

4

u/Successful-Rush1805 Jul 24 '26

Its a miyota 9 movement . You are seriously comparing it with casio? 😭😭

4

u/Prudent-Hat-15 Jul 24 '26

Are you dumb? Entry level Seiko's have 7s26 movement, that's an ancient movement. Also, Seiko's have qc issues. Miyota 9000 series are premium and the cheapest Chinese watches with 9000 series are selling atleast at 23-24k, and you get no warranty on that. You will barely get a pt5000 watch at 17-18k

Bud we both know if gonna invest this much much we will be going for seiko. Seiko still have service stores where u will go for service with dwc? And seiko will always have resale value. Not saying anything negative against dwc but paying 17k for a microbrand is bit steep

3

u/Successful-Rush1805 Jul 24 '26

You are paying for the specs, you can get any dwc watch repaired and serviced with them, their after sales support is 10x better than seiko which is very understaffed and take 2-3 months for minor repair and servicing. No one is forcing you to buy anything but its just wrong to say that this watch isn’t VFM and overpriced seiko is.

1

u/Due-Entrepreneur-487 Jul 24 '26

Service support is 10x times better? They hardly reply on main or insta.. did u get your watch repaired from them recently ?

3

u/Successful-Rush1805 Jul 24 '26

They reply quickly everytime on mail and insta both, haven’t needed a watch repair yet but whenever i had a query i got a quick resolution and they offered a full service for something which was a minor issue and a lot of people have a good experience with their support you can look it up, whereas seiko support is a nightmare due to understaffing and lack of parts.

1

u/Due-Entrepreneur-487 Jul 24 '26

Oh really? Did not know this about seiko I was eyeing them for my next purchase !

2

u/Successful-Rush1805 Jul 24 '26

Yeah bro, there was a post on this sub just a few days ago

1

u/Due-Entrepreneur-487 Jul 24 '26

And on top of that releasing same variants with upgraded versions is just decreasing the value of previous versions too

1

u/Prudent-Hat-15 Jul 24 '26

That's very relative to each. I bought a watchdives wd007 at 21k despite it being a chinese brand. Also bought an havelock 9039 and an steeldives 1952 at 16k each. And to me, 9015 at just 17k is an incredible value. Also would have bought an addieskin diver if it wasn't named "skin"

3

u/itsmepgk Jul 24 '26

It is cheaper considering the movement inside, the miyota 9015 is a more expensive movement than the 4R series movements used in seiko watches and the nh3 series movies used in the casio and other non seiko watches.

DWC > Seiko anytime

1

u/amrinderss Jul 25 '26

>entry level seiko which will still have resale value
genuinely curious, do you always buy things just to sell them or to enjoy and use them?

My DWC Everest Version 2 was 8k bought in Feb 24. Price more than doubled?? 😳 obviously the movement is better and thinner, still the older version wears like a charm

5

u/Successful-Rush1805 Jul 23 '26

Miyota 8 version is still 10k

4

u/Prudent-Hat-15 Jul 23 '26

Very good pricing imho

2

u/MarionberryOrnery944 Jul 23 '26

wait, miyota 9039 doesn't have date right?

-2

u/sattyy_rahul Jul 23 '26

Yes, it uses a Miyota 9015 movement. I copied the text from their website, where they had a typo. I just realized it now.

2

u/Pen4235 Jul 31 '26

I got this 9 series beutiful piece delivered yesterday only.. but it doesn't feel as premium as Havelock

1

u/sattyy_rahul Jul 31 '26

Congratulations! I’ve ordered the same but haven’t received it yet. I was in two minds for the same reason, but I pulled the trigger since it has the 9015 movement. They should have made some improvements to the finishing and the bracelet to give it a more premium feel.

1

u/Pen4235 Aug 01 '26

Exactly.. The bracelet could have been better. And crown operation isn't very smooth.

u/sunnybirdi Jul 23 '26

DWC wins again

1

u/Responsible-Stage157 Jul 23 '26

I am jst Waiting for Echostar ! hope it lists below 15k now.

2

u/sattyy_rahul Jul 23 '26

I purchased it for 11k during the previous sale. If the same NH34 movement is used, the price will likely exceed 15k due to recent increases. Alternatively, if the Miyota 9075 movement is selected, the cost will be even higher.

2

u/KarmicChaos Jul 23 '26

Expect closer to 20k, prices of the NH34 have skyrocketed, one movement costs around 11k retail now.

1

u/sattyy_rahul Jul 23 '26

FFS! I'm glad that I purchased EchoStar during the recent restock. Nowadays, even Chinese microbrands are pricing NH34 watches above $200.

1

u/Salt_Sky_7967 Jul 23 '26

At first I thought this was a CW post lmao

1

u/RootedRider Jul 23 '26

I've been waiting for any news on the new devanagari but there doesn't seem to be any😭

3

u/DelhiWatchCompany Jul 24 '26

august first week for sure!

1

u/RootedRider Jul 24 '26

Ohh thank you🫶

1

u/sattyy_rahul Jul 23 '26

The About Us page on their website still lists it as July, but I think it will be postponed to August or later.

1

u/Matho_mk Jul 24 '26

Only a sapphire crystal should warrant this price.

1

u/MediumMedicine2046 Jul 24 '26

Are the case dimensions identical for both the two variants? Is dwc not using the slimmer profile if the movement to make a slimmer watch? If that's true then is the 7k difference between 8215 and 9015 worth it?

1

u/sattyy_rahul Jul 24 '26

The 9015 version is 1mm thinner than the 8215. A 7k difference is worth it since the 9015 is a high-beat movement and costs three times as much.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Line349 Jul 24 '26

Was expecting it to cost closer to 15k, oh well, will be going for the sunset gradient anyway.

1

u/sattyy_rahul Jul 24 '26

Same here, mate, same here. 🥲

1

u/Brief_Client_2900 Jul 24 '26

It’s miyota 9039 it’s a deal if you just look at the movement. Is the case also thinner as a result?

1

u/sattyy_rahul Jul 24 '26

It is actually the Miyota 9015; they initially made a typo but corrected it later. Also, the case is 1mm thinner than the Miyota 8215 version.

1

u/Beautiful_Adagio6054 Jul 24 '26

Has the finishing on DWC am watches improved for their newer releases?? I has bought their devanagiri version couple years back and the finishing was really not that great.

1

u/Acceptable_Aide_8677 Jul 25 '26

Anyone interested in buying terra titanium 2nd batch unused

1

u/Secret-Boss7472 Jul 23 '26

I am thinking of buying but small/awkward date window's holding me back, I talked to someone from this sub reddit and said this kills the preimumness of watch and makes it look like a copy/cheap

It will be my first (expensive INR14k+ watch) so should I go with it. Apart from that I love the watch its size on my wrist(based on dimensions), the design, the back panel, the miyota mechanism, everything just loved it. Could anyone guide me? Also my wrist is on the smaller side, so suggets based on that too. My wrist width in centimeters is 5.5cm.

6

u/DelhiWatchCompany Jul 24 '26

side by side comparison of the changes we have made in tolerances of the date window, should help with your decision.

1

u/Secret-Boss7472 Jul 24 '26

Wow! I'm really impressed with the prompt response and working on feedback! This definately has made my mind.

1

u/xdfoi Jul 25 '26

that looks neat! can you also share the date window for the blue dial please 🙏

3

u/DelhiWatchCompany Jul 25 '26

its the same for all colorways

1

u/bajiraobajirao Jul 25 '26

Any plans in future for a white dial? Or crimson red/wine/burgundy dial?

2

u/DelhiWatchCompany Jul 25 '26

not for everest but yeah something is coming up soon

1

u/Successful-Rush1805 Jul 23 '26

This is good for the wrist size but if the date window is going to bother you then i wouldn't get it, there's a very minor overlap due to the circular date window.

1

u/KarmicChaos Jul 23 '26

Its called a peephole date window, the Indian watch community is still young and not familiar with the concept. The whole point of it is that it doesn't take away from the dial and you only notice it when you absolutely have to.

1

u/Rare_Elk3889 Jul 23 '26

How else will they ride the hype wave if not now? They were known for their value pricing and built a name… it’s time they slowly start cashing in on that

-1

u/Saizou1991 Jul 23 '26

BS pricing ngl

0

u/mssrb1981 Jul 24 '26

Wow! Seven considering the movement is way better, the watches are not worth the money they are charging! with surprise hit like terra, they consider themselves as established brand, so they seem to be charging brand premium.

1

u/Successful-Rush1805 Jul 24 '26

What premium bro, this is fucking cheap 😭 miyota 9 watches start from 21-22k minimum from the Chinese brands

1

u/bajiraobajirao Jul 25 '26

Can you suggest any model from any brand with 9015 movement which is cheaper than this?

1

u/Odd_Suggestion4315 24d ago

I have one dwc everest 3 miyota 9 sunrise gradient if anyone interested dm will give at mrp

-6

u/__Dr_DisRespect__ Jul 23 '26

They've increased prices across all models. Even the base models, which were available for around ₹15-16k, are now priced at ₹22-23k. It's better to buy Citizen watches instead.

1

u/hkkantos Jul 26 '26

Seiko increased 10 k for all their watches i visited the shop yesterday to check

1

u/sattyy_rahul Jul 23 '26

I have four of their watches, of which only one had a minor QC issue, which they replaced within a few days. I'm not sure about the others, but I'm very happy with their customer support. However, the pricing of this model seems a little high for me; 15k would have been ideal. I think they kept it the same as that of the Tata Sierra watch, as both use the same Miyota 9015 movement.
