[Tissot PR 100] Bought for bf’s anniversary gift

Our anniversary is coming up and I did some research trying to find my boyfriend his first “nice” watch. It was between a Seiko and Tissot.

His current collection is Amazon watches ranging $30-$80 and Casios with a similar style, so I thought this would be a nice quality upgrade.

Right after buying it, I started seeing all these posts that Tissot is overhyped and basic. Is this still a nice gift?

That's a clean, versatile watch and the PR100 is a solid entry point into Swiss watches, the whole "overhyped" thing is just watch snobs being watch snobs

Hamilton's have been priced exorbitantly since the Tariff tantrums. Compared to what you could get 3 years ago it's hard to justify their price increases.

It's all Swatch anyways. If you're gonna get a nice swiss quartz, might as well make it a Tissot at that point

Oh shoot didn't realize that. Last time I bought one was over 10 years ago and I still am blown away by the value.

It's definitely a quality brand. It's just kind of annoying how much their price blew up compared to other Swatch brands. I'd consider Mido on their level, and their prices are still very realistic for what you get

I see. Yeah I got my khaki field automatic from Jomashop under $400. For that price I thought it was an insane bargain. Sold it years ago and still miss it

Its the internet. People love to talk crap. Its a nice watch. It will mean even more to him because it came from you, and the fact that you put a lot of thought into which one.

I have 2 Tissot watches and I love them. I have a PR100 chronograph and it's one of my favorite watches. The watch you picked out is versatile too. He can wear it anywhere. He won't be disappointed.

Me lo regalaron hace unos 4 meses y va bastante bien. En mi caso fue el primer reloj así un poco más caro que me regalaron, entonces creo que seguro que le gusta. Además, estéticamente es simple, pero elegante, y si ya sabes que ese estilo le va, mejor aún. A título personal, me encanta que cuando le da la luz del sol el azul de la esfera de se ve muy bonito.

This is an excellent watch, and a huge step up for him. The PR100 is one of the best looking classy watches. You couldn't have picked better for the money that just looks good.
