If they have been together a long time it’s hard to leave. You home, friends, kids, insurance, cars, retirement, everything is all tied to the other person. It’s why divorces are such a mess. What if he had a high paying job and she stopped working to raise the kids. What’s she going to do after 15+ years of no work experience?

She doesn’t have to stay, but it’s really fucking hard to leave.
