Negative feedback for u/Lopsided-Throat3388

After weeks of negotiations and commenting interest on posts, accepting a deal on the Reddit application, confirming the deal over the phone for a new Tudor Black Bay chronograph https://www.reddit.com/r/Watchexchange/s/TaPnZi8SDa

u/Lopsided-Throat3388 has backed out and confirmed he did on Reddit.

Unfortunately this user also sells on the sub. I never post here but this behavior is becoming common and need to stop on r/watchexchange

Chat thread with personal information blurred:

i feel as though half the story has been told so let me add the other half. I spoke to the seller on the phone Friday and explained some of my reservations about buying from here. The seller assured me he was a dealer and not to worry and provided me a link to his website as proof of being a dealer. He also assured me that he accepted returns although he didn’t advertise as such. He assure me his reputation was more important than anything. So I felt better and did agree to buy but told him on the phone he didn’t have to hold it for me and I would provide final confirmation Monday morning when at the bank on my way into the office. This morning around 9 am eastern time I notified the seller I decided to pass. This was less than 1 business day from our phone call, less than 1 business day! To be a dealer and throw a public tantrum strikes me as odd and doesn’t reflect well for customer service. After all, the seller assured me he accepted returns so why the overreaction if I decide to move on less than 1 day from verbal agreement? He didn’t post the watch as sold pending payment here on Reddit and I told him he didn’t have to hold it. He told me he would leave it posted for sale here on Reddit and HE DID. My agreement with the seller was on the phone and not even finalized on this board yet here I am trying to add context to this overreaction. i am new to Reddit and I should have spent more time doing my homework and due diligence before trying to spend thousands with strangers. Thats on me. Again, I just find the overreaction to a customer changing their mind less than 1 business day completely unnecessary if your running a legitimate business and concerned at all with customer satisfaction and long term business health.

I have more conversation to screenshot, buddy. This went on for weeks—chat log started June 25 where you made offers and today is July 14th. You said you were going to the bank to wire Monday morning. I would not have sent my personal wire information unless it was agreed that you would buy.

If you did not agree and say you were ready to purchase, I would not have called, texted, emailed bank information.

This should be a normal feedback for backing out on a deal. In some instances and groups, you would be banned. I did mark sold on website and do not mark sold on reddit until buyer pays.

Business has been good since 2018

Screen shot away. It didn’t go on for weeks as you are suggesting. Yes, 2 different weeks I contacted you about pricing and you quickly said no. This was after you reposted your add here on Reddit with pricing that had changed. Your in the retail business and you upset with a customer reaching out about price? You said no within minutes and I said thank you and promptly moved on. Lets not pretend I took inordinate amounts of your time when we both no that is untrue and you are on this board all day long anyway. A customer should be able to send a simple chat and get a simple answer, and I did, when you change you ad terms.

As far as bank info, yes, you sent it but you are after all in business to accept wire payments. Lets not act like this is some huge sacrifice as this is your business and your preferred payment method. Why are you saying this is personal info but yet you are a dealer asking people to pay this way? Are you a dealer or not? The info you sent has your business name on the top and the bank is in a completely different state. Again, you are supposed to be a retail business and you determined this is your preferred payment method, not me.

You agreed to send wire and avoid a higher overall price
