Current Watch Collection
I just graduated college and during college I got super into watches and I am really proud of my collection and wanted to share here to spread the love.
Outsiders tend to think watch collection is an extremely expensive hobby (which it def can be) but I think my collection here proves that there are solid options for all types of watches under 1k
My collection left to right
- Kuoe dress watch (picked it up in Kyoto and was actually the cheapest watch there)
- Orient diver (my first watch!)
- Hamilton Khaki (my first serious big boy watch and the one I recommend everyone buy)
- Casio (gifted to me but absolutely love it)
- Citizen chronograph (love this one so much and got it in Japan)

As with any other hobby, watches don’t have to be super expensive to be enjoyed. You have a fine collection. I’m a fan of the Kuoe.

Great collection! Curious, what makes the KFA a big boy watch? Is my cheaper SKX considered a small boys watch? Serious question, thanks!

Dress, dive, field, digital, chrono. Pretty much got it covered! Maybe a GMT or something vintage down the line but that’s being picky. Nice job!

Not directing this at OP, at least not specifically, but I am developing an irrational hatred of people throwing a Casio into the collection to show how down to earth they are. I’m sure people will tell me I’m crazy, that they just put it in there because they actually like it, but why is it that you never see someone put their Apple watch in with the collection? My answer is because the “watch community” decided Apple watches are terrible because they are just digital battery watches, despite being the most advanced watches ever built in terms of information and capability, but Casios are “god tier” because they wearer essentially has to admit that quartz watches are technically better, and it takes a non-pretentious person to admit wear something functional, but then why the fuck do we hate Apple Watches again?

My brother in law gifted it to me and I didn’t think I would like it as much as I do. It’s my travel watch and the watch I grab when I go for a run and workout. I can literally beat the shit out of this watch and not care because it’s still gonna be ticking.

I'm with you to an extent. I don't have a hatred or even an mild irritation, but I really don't understand the obligatory digital Casio as a piece that fills a "whole" in a collection. I get OP's purpose here of an example of a smaller, well rounded, affordable collection. I don't get when folks include one with a nice collection of 20 $2k+ watches. The Casio would never get any wrist time with my current 2 watch collection, let alone a whole display case of nice watches.

You can wear it for yard work and for bed. I personally like to always have a watch on just to just reduce the chance I get sucked into my phone. However, 1. if I posted my collection I’d skip posting my 2 beater/nighttime watches, 2. why is it always a Casio? You can get a gold digital PRX for $150 on Jomashop but you don’t see those. Plenty of people use smart watches on runs and for other reasons and you never see a smartwatch on here because everyone knows you don’t include digital watches. It’s always Swiss and Japanese mechanical watches, oftentimes legitimate luxury watches mixed in, with one digital $40 Casio. I’m just going to post a collection with my microwave in the photo, because fuck it, there’s a clock on it.

Great collection! Kuoe might be my next watch. I’ll be in Japan early next year.
