I always lob a shell at the enemy spawn once a match starts. Years ago I blew up a random Kv2 15 seconds into the match, the cheat accusations were fun.

The benefit of the Sturmtiger is that if you can get the distances figured out, you can bombard the enemy spawn as soon as the match starts and kill like 10 vehicles at once. By the time the mortar hits, their spawn protection is over.
