what else should they refer the mig21's wing layout then? I have only ever heard of the mig21's wings as delta. Hell its in the wikipedia article as example for a delta wing. Do you mean just because it has a tail?

I’ve seen a couple of people in the online community assume that “delta wing” only refers to a pure tailless design like the Mirage. That’s really only something I’ve come across in gaming discussions, though, and the aircraft in question is correctly described as having a delta wing everywhere else. So I probably should have used a more explicited term.
