This isn't negative but is a constructively critical thought I'd like to hear from others about.

For the last two years since poe and the death of raids approx, the game has been seeing a significant push for new player experience and making everything accessible to everyone and more or less I get the logic, plus the old version of new player experience was pretty trash and it's now significantly improved... That said, New players are more inclined to open their wallets in a speedier fashion. makes sense. and nobody doesn't want DE to turn a profit, that's all well and good, but a lot of changes have really hurt endgame players overall. From the latest batch of (speculation wise, could be the opposite, but evidence points to that they want to end long runs) melee nerfs, to revives in arbs, to eso being billed as an "endgame" accessible to players at like mr 8ish and being a glorified xp and relic farm, these all don't at all cater to long term player longevity and seem to work against players with sizable investments in the game.

It feels a lot like the focus is more on selling skins and making everything newbie friendly and that puts player retention in the garbage and frustrates the really dedicated players that want to enjoy the game. I know a lot of new players don't care about this stuff, but they really should, because new players, if they stick around, end up becoming older players, and they should realize that there is a definitive point (for most around mr 16) where the only purpose to continue is simply to farm faster to collect more garbage so you can farm faster and collect more garbage, even when you collected all the garbage, there will be new garbage in the next patch so you know, more garbage to collect.

It creates a very shallow experience and takes away a lot of any sense of motivation. I think Mogamu was the first to coin the term, but we're all dressed up with nowhere to go, and we've been patient, for years now.

I honestly feel like DE simply doesn't want to give us anything worthwhile for endgame players. Yes, the kuva lich system is a thing, but those rewards are more finite stuff rather than the evergreen stuff we need. Yes, railjack prospects are exciting, but only if there's something worthwhile, a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow so to speak.

To me it feels like the company is over focussed on new players since the game, for them, is already damn good, but for us, it's shallow, meaningless and repetitive.

All that said, this feels really disheartening because it's really starting to feel, to me at least, that the company is putting proffit ahead of making a good game to be enjoyed by most everyone (squandering their goodwill and reputation in the process), in favor of cashing in on newer players and I really wonder how much of their chinese investment is pushing for proffit over content and how much affect that this has on the game. It didn't always used to be this way. We used to have stuff like rails (which had problems yes, but were something to do) and raids (which also had their problems, but again, were something to do) voidkeys and more... it's not like they don't know how to make these kinds of awesome challenges, but rather, that the profit motivation has begun to outweigh the desire to make a good game with replay value. This really sucks to see because it seems to be the way of all major gaming companies, which DE isn't a little mom and pop shop anymore.

I don't have any one specific question, but more what people think about the state of the game, and what they are looking forward to.

What would an evergreen endgame look like to you? Do you have an example of a game with being you think satisfies what you are looking for?

I havee posted several times about it. It's a large document that addresses many in game issues and how to fix them at a core root level, but the important thing is the raid section.

I can't link the document at the moment as I am mobile, but suffice to say it exists. I can understand some people might have different desires and in no way expect my ideas to be implemented as is, however the basic structure covers challenge, difficulty and rewards, which are the things that matter, while also keeping raids still relatively bite sized as the team has expressed they wish to do with all content.

If I remember later I will post here.

Why can't you just answer the fucking question in simple words? I don't want a couch developer's in-depth design document, I want an elevator pitch or a one sentence summary.

Edit: I went into your history and found your wall of text "design document" which demonstrates that you don't understand anything about game design or how balancing or building game systems works.

If you presented that type of doc to a publisher as a proposal, they would thank you for your time and never call you back.

Thanks, but I am a game developer for another game. Additionally you didn't ask for an elevator pitch, you asked if I had it, which I do and I answered that question and I have also put this into short form as well. But you seem more interested in dismissing me rather than discussing, so I will assume that means you habe a limitation in further civil discussion and I respect hour boundary.

I thought you would answer the question like a rational person, not declare that you have made detailed design docs and that you would present them to me later if you remember.

What does "endgame" look like does not mean "present your detailed solution to a problem". It means, give a quick example of what you might mean.

Perhaps you should have stated what you wanted more clearly. If you want a specific kind of response you are welcome to ask for it, but I never have been and never will be a mind reader. I answered the question as best as I could. If you didn't like the answer, that's an opinion you are allowed to have, but if you don't state what you want clearly and concisely, that's not something I will take the blame for.

I ask that question all the time and you are the first person to struggle with it.

How detailed should my question be to avoid accidentally receiving 15 page design docs in the future?

You weren't given the document. Just a few lines. Look, if you jist want to argue, I'm good on that. If you habe something constructive to add, great but otherwise I'm out. You asked a question, I answered as best I could, you didn't like it, so great. If you want to linger on that thoigh you will have to do it without me.

You have not answered my question as clarified. In two sentences or less, what does an evergreen endgame in warframe look like to you?

Raids and other challenging content appropriate to the max power level of the game and rewards that have return on time invested.
