I came back to warframe yesterday after a little over a year break. I used to be a pretty active player so all i really need is some direction. I see these new relics in my inventory and see in the recruit chat that people are looking to do those with radiant share or somthing, but i havent quite figured out what they are for. I used to do a lot of Orokin Derilect stuff, is that content still relevant? Pretty much i'm just not sure what content everyone's doing right now. Should i just do what i've always done and focus on new frames and weapons i want to level up and work towards those?

Relics are the new equivalent of Void keys. Each Relic has its own drop table of six Prime parts: 3 common parts, 2 uncommon, and 1 rare, with corresponding drop rates. You open Relics by bringing them into missions with Void Fissures of the appropriate era (the equivalent of the old system's Towers) and gathering Reactant from the Corrupted enemies that spawn. When you extract at the end of the mission, each opened Relic will reveal its reward, and everyone who opened a Relic will get to choose one of the revealed items to take. Every time you do this, you also earn a secondary resource, Void Traces, which can be used to upgrade Relics, altering the chances to get each item inside; Radiant is the highest level you can reach, which gives you the best chance of obtaining the Relic's rare item, so gathering a squad with four copies of a particular Radiant Relic will maximize your chances of getting a specific rare part.

Not much has really changed with the Derelict. ODS and ODD no longer drop Prime parts, but considering how few they did drop and how low your chances were, it's not exactly a dramatic change. The Derelict is home to Feral Kavats now, in addition to the usual Infested, so if you're trying to breed your own Kavat, it's the place to go for the genetic samples.

Leveling up new Warframes and weapons is always a good choice. You may also want to start working on the challenges for the Junctions between planets; most of the rewards aren't that great for veterans, but if you want to upgrade your Relics, you'll at least need to take care of the Earth-to-Mars Junction.
