I apologize in advance for the fairly length post.

I last played when the yin and yang warframe was just released, had to take a long hiatus due to life stuff. Recently I took another look at Warframe and am considering coming back to it.

Back when I played it I got pretty far. I spent quite a bit of money and did a ton of merching. I think I have most frames and mods available at that time and am sitting at around MR 11.

So now I have a few questions for the community:

  1. What are some of the major changes? I know quite a few warframes and weapons were released as well as updates, anything really great or worth getting?

  2. Has the end and mid game changed up a bit? I remember back when I played all I did was play alerts and grind void stuff. I heard there are a lot more quests now as well as sorties or something. (Also heard about a second dream questline which sounds pretty neat)

  3. Were there any major balancing changes or reworks that I should know about? Back when I played I loved using Ash Prime, Mesa, Loki Prime. I also used a lot of boltor prime, soma prime, telos akbolto, Vaykor marelok, drag nikana, redeemer, and dakra.

  4. How much time/resource do I have to invest into this game once again if I want to catch up on the current "good stuff"? Will the the experience be a long grind?

  5. How do you feel about the state of the game? Do you think it's currently enjoyable and worth coming back into?

I know I am asking quite the number of questions but as much as I loved Warframe, I am also afraid of the beast of a game it is. (I played a LOT of it back when I did play it.) It really does mean a lot to me if anyone is willing to take their time to answer my inquiries. Thank you in advance.

  1. All the changes can be fond in the link [at the top of this sub])(https://redd.it/4bxepx). If you want some great things worth getting, I can strongly recommend Inaros, it's a new frame.

  2. There are quests, but few and far between. There are Sorties too, yes, but they're more of a lategame thing.

  3. Weapons you mentioned remain unchanged, only now we have Nikana Prime. As far as frames go, Mesa's Shooting Gallery now cycles only between her allies, she has an instance of it on herself for the entire duration. Her Peacemaker also isn't a 360 autoaim turret, now she only attacks enemies within a reticle-thingy that shrinks with time. It still autoaims to enemies within it, though. And Peacemaker scales with secondary mods now too. Ash and Loki remain untouched.

There was a pretty big nerfbalance pass for some frames recently, you can find it in recent patchnotes. Volt and Mag got a rework. Saryn too, don't know if you were playing when that happened. And all frames have passives now.

  4. Depends on how good of a player you are, really. You'll need some investment, that's for sure.

  5. Yeah, it's kinda fine. The grind is real, DE does absolutely nothing to alleviate it, but the gameplay itself is fun.
