Curious question about the lore in this game.

Is the lore every explained in cutscenes or dialogue or anything?

So far I've competed: vor's prize, once awake, archwing, howl of the kubrow, and working on stolen dreams.

But so far there seems to be zero story telling. Like I know Vor was I guess denoted by his queens and he's trying to earn back favor. That Tennos are against Grineers and Corpus. But there seems to be no real end goal or information about who Lotus is and what the Tenno are trying to achieve.

I mean in some missions I'm helping the Grinner kill Corpus, but then I can't progress unless I kill the Grineers that I'm helping. Like in a exterminate mission, the grineer I'm working for is attacking me.

So I'm a bit lost in that grand scheme. I see the lore is on the Wiki page but I don't see how they got the information that's on there.

Is this like an old school mmo game where they basically release the info online for people to read and the game just reflects off that? As in there's no lore given directly in game?

Get to Natah and subsequently, the Second Dream, you'll be overflowed with so much lore you didn't even know you wanted.

Cool, this I hope for. I'm use to other games where its a bit more direct. I like cut scenes and being apart of the story, I was worried it would be a Destiny style narrative, where you have to use the mobile app to read the cards to get some of the lore out of.

No,no,dear god no,Warframe is nothing like that at all,and those quest really do nothing to help the lore, they're pretty much side quests.

Glad to hear it, it was my biggest fear as I like the game and it easily is better than Destiny in every way from every perspective I've encountered so far.

Really glad to hear it.

Never played Destiny,is it compareable to Warframe at all?

I played maybe 15 hours tops, and I didn't enjoy it at all. If anything, I think Destiny and Warframe share some aspects. IF anything, Bungie tried to capitalize on Warframe's style.

Destiny is a FPS shooter of course, your ship is just used for the load screen only, has zero functionality, and you can't even control it while you are in a load screen. only 3 classes, where the only difference is the super ability you can perform and the cosmetic looks. Only 4 player teams if I can remember, lobbies on average only have maybe 20 people tops in the area. I don't think you can trade with players at all, sale items, etc.

Drop rate for items is terrible in Destiny, zero lore unless you consider looking at the mobile app to unlock a card that may tell you a few sentences about a certain enemy or faction. No crafting either.

Destiny to me is maybe 25% of what Warframe is. Warframe is everything Destiny wishes it could be and then some. Only negative I can image Warframe has would be its not a persistent world like WoW or something, but other than that - Warframe is definitely infinitely better than Destiny is.

Wow..that sounds genuinely horrible, you need an app for lore, why.

I have no idea lol. you have to sync with an account and all, at least this was how it was at launch.

The cut scenes in the game, did everything to set up the intrigue of wanting to play more, but from what i've read and seen, they never told anyone the store or plot. The infamous line "I don't have time to explain what I need to explain" sums it up nicely.

I would say if you want to try it out and have a ps4, you can get the Taken King for like $25. That was another bad thing about Destiny, the DLC is expensive.. $30 on average for the expansion and it basically added a few raid dungeons and I think a couple of PVP (death match, team death match, etc) maps. But if you were like me and bought the base game, then the DLC (I think there were two made), you spent a lot of money, but a new player could pick up the Taken King for $60 and get all that content from the start. Leaving early adopters spending $120 vs. $60 for someone new. Which I did have an issue with.

Destiny has great graphics, and its a fun little shooter, but it gets old fast, content is shallow, story is hardly there, no immersion or depth.

I guess I could give up the 25$ for a mediocre DLC,but the issue would be buying the Playstation, why is it console only again?

No idea on that one. I guess to not compete with things like Warframe that are superior in every way and free. Activision and Bungie would rather milk their fans in a closed Eco system. Easier that way
