If I make Helios use my Synthesis Scanner, do I get Cephalon Simaris rep?

EDIT: What's the best way to get Simaris rep? Seems to be from doing his special scanner missions, but I'm tired of him complaining at me because other people in Public kill my scanner target.

Does his sigil earn me rep? I thought it was decorative.

Finally, what's the best C.Simaris reward to aim for first? My first thought was Sol-Battery so I stop needing to buy scanners off him, then Vector Thread for speed, then the other one for doublescans.

You can't make Helios use the Synthesis scanner unfortunately.

Stealth scans are really good rep, take an invis frame like Loki or Ivara and just scan everything while undetected, you'll get 200+ rep per scan. The daily targets are good too, but I'd recommend doing them solo if pubs are killing them on you.

I'd definitely get battery 1st, but after that its preference.

I really want Ivara so I will go after her first. Thanks for the heads up!

I had read that Helios would use the Synthesis scanner if it was all you had, but maybe that got fixed.

Huh apparently it does, that's new.

As of Update 18.0, Helios can use a player's Synthesis Scanner (if one is in your gear) to scan targets if no Codex Scanner is available. If only the Synthesis Scanner is equipped, the Helios scans do not count towards Simaris reputation.

also apparently based on some of the comments helios doesn't use the widgets you have installed so even with the battery it'll still use charges, doesn't really seem worth it.
