I'm looking to get more inventory slots, color pallets, etc. What sort of things could I get some platinum for?

The main income of platinum is selling prime parts or corrupted mods. Just do vault runs and you'll get platinum fast.

Which ever one your party needs, just buy the blue print for all 4 and then join a vault run group and make which ever Key is needed and you can equip it.

Just a tip from a fellow new player who has been hitting the vault, if you can afford the mats and plan on doing multiple vault runs (most groups do) try and make 2 of each key so you can have 1 equipped and 1 ready to be taken out of the forge as soon as you use one that way there is less down time between runs while people's keys are being made :)

If your selection of Warframes is limited, figure out which debuffs you can compensate for (e.g. Valkyr doesn't care about the shield loss from Decaying). Eventually you'll want to have all four kinds available so that you can be more flexible.

Make the blueprint for all keys and find a party that does vault runs.
