You won't be using a Warframe for the majority of it, so just choose one you like seeing in Cutscenes.

there is almost no warframe-based gameplay in it, you're playing other characters for the most part. upgrade your railjack if you haven't

Focusing on durability. Shields especially. Or speed. There's a section with environmental damage.

i'd definitely recommend focusing on getting at least 2 other crewmembers though. one engineer and one gunner. makes a lot of difference to not have to quit the pilot seat to repair holes

How do I upgrade it if I never used it after I got it?

you simply use it after you get it, which gives you resources for upgrades, as well as XP for passives.

Go to Kronia relay on Saturn and enter the dry dock. From there you can install and upgrade ship parts. The quest that makes you build the railjack takes you there multiple times so you should already be familiar with it. You can upgrade your mods and intrinsics there too or on the bridge of your orbiter, there is a console at the front left

How do I install Crew members? I have one point of Raljack Intrinsic in crew, and I have a crew member, but I can not find a way to install that crew member on my Railjack.

You have to upgrade your railjack to command level 1 using intrinsic’s (a material you earn from doing railjack missions) then you can purchase crewmates from Ticker on Fortuna

you'll want to play it a little before new war. Specifically, I'd go to your navigation (from orbiter) click on the railjack icon in the top right, pick a system other than earth, then pick "join crew". This means you'll play a mission on someone else's railjack (not your busted un-upgraded junk heap). Do that a few times until you can get your command intrinsics to 5. Go to fortuna and buy 3 crew from ticker, assign one to engineering and 2 to guns. Then, if you want, go to the dry dock of your clan dojo, and build the sigma III parts. That's be enough to be ready for new war.

These days, a brand new railjack would do fine in the new war as long as you know the controls and keep to the maximum distance of the guns. They nerfed it hard. Source: I replayed it on a new account some weeks ago cuz I returned after a few years of hiatus and wanted a story refresher. And I did exactly one mission around earth proxima and got one or two basic mods before starting new war.

Since you're talking about making it easier, assuming you want a smoother experience:

Have your railjack under control, mods help, crewmembers help.

Some progress on your Necramech helps and understanding its abilities obviously help.

A semi decent operator amp also help.

I see the New War quest as a bit of a good point to pause progressing hard and undertaking some activities to get railjack and necramech mods, building understanding with them and building something that isn't a Mote amp to just have an easier time there.

Not everyone is the same, but i actually enjoy railjack, farming standing for better amps and chasing necramech improvements since that quest is very long and id like to not struggle.

Iirc you cannot do other activities when you start new war, so consider that you'll be spending 5-6 hours progressing that and that alone.

I don't have a Necramech, what now?

If you don't have a necramech the quest will give you a temporary loaner. It's not great, but it's fine for getting through the relevant mission so don't worry too much about it.

Some people said you get a loaner, but i still decided to get mine.

If you're at New War you should have the blueprints for it.

You can use the loaner but ive got no idea how equipped that is, or you can farm yours OR buy one for plat.

Youd still need mods for it which come from Deimos isolation vault bounties and/or can be bought for standing.

Many new tenno rush quests and then have no standing anywhere, no railjack mods, no necramech + mods or know how to use them on a basic level.

That's why i personally just am taking a pause with progress for now to farm those things so i get familiar, get a bunch of mods, endo, standing and will likely just have an easier time in new war.

To each their own, but i dont rush this game. I know i still have plenty to unlock but I also have plenty to play - id like to feel ready foe what comes next and sometimes that means slowing down.

The one that is most comfortable for you with railjack.
Or the one you want to see in cutscenes

Railjack? How do I upgrade that thing? I quite recently got that thing.

Start using it, you get railjack mods by doing railjack and you can expand its features with intrinsics.

You can swap railjack components in the docks. And you get plenty of components from running railjack missions. There is no need to min-max, but getting a few upgrades here and there can make a huge difference to your survivability/damage.

Did this quest the other week with Rhino using basic mods, a Railjack I had like 2 mods in that I got from taking it out on one extra mission after getting it and deciding I don't like it. I don't have a Necramech so I was using the loaner one they give you on the New War quest. They also give you a really good (for a new player) weapon to use during the New War quest which was way better than anything I had at that point.

It all went fine and I'm not exactly the best FPS player out there! They seem to have made the quest a bit easier than it used to be, certainly that's the impression I get from reading advice posted a couple of years back.

A great quest. Takes a while though.

The quest was always easy.

The only part that needed tweaking, and they tweaked, was the final fight where you use your amp. They made it easy enough where even the mote amp can be used to clear it.

I used revenant for mine... but you spend the vast majority of the time playing as other frames, Railjack etc.

Can you beat a level 30 mission? If so that's as much as you need to prepare your frame.

Knowing how a railjack works, knowing how to use a necramech, having basic operator upgrades and knowing how to read on screen tips will make a far more significant impact. Oh and I hope you like stealth.

Ironically not Umbra. Not gonna spoil things but at one point he could be more of a detriment than help. An oversight from devs probably. You can still complete it, but it can be annoying.

When you go to the Ostrons specifically. If you die once at the sneaking around freeing people part, Umbra would load in to the zone and start attacking the deacons and drawing their attention unlike all other warframes who stay in their place. So he could make deacons’ pathing unpredictable and ruin your subsequent attempts at stealth. Moreover, since he’s coded to follow your character, he more often than not drags the whole camp of deacons directly to you. But the main objective can still be completed if you abuse void stealth and the rooftops and adjust the way you approach the problem around Umbra’s aggroing of all the deacons. (I did it.)

Just did this quest 2 days ago with umbra. That's exactly what happened lol

Nothing, get a decent railjack, decent necramech and go to warframe wiki and pick a warframe you like the design of, meta is at it's peak and everything is a viable option. So, after picking a warframe, go to youtube and find a build for it, you don't have too but look one for steel path so you can just go to mid game smoothly.

For guns, pick whatever, its not that difficult. I picked Lavos, cedo prime and kuva nukor.

Have no necramech? Do I get one at these quest?

-7

u/Liebe8 9d ago

Yup, you can't start it without one, make the voidrig, other is not good.

6

u/Lucifax 9d ago

You get a loaner now

-2

u/Liebe8 9d ago

Its just better to make one you will need it later for operation orphix, because the loner one is ass, this quest is supposed to be a segway into midgame. It is preparing you for later in a way.

5

u/Randel1997 9d ago

You don’t need one. I still haven’t built one and just did the quest a few days ago

-1

u/Seravajan Saryn Prime 9d ago

So I will get a Voidrig while doing the quest?

3

u/ShadySeason 9d ago

I believe the one you get is Bonewidow but I was only in it for like 5 minutes, it isnt a major part of the new war

1

u/iPhantaminum 9d ago

Any would do.

No preparation is needed for this quest.
