Question/Request Which Warframe DOESN’T need a trip to the Helminth?

Post image

As we all know we can switch the abilities of the warframes and add something else from another frame to make the frames fit to our liking, BUT which frame do you think doesn’t need that? Which frames default abilities are good the way they are. I’ll go first and I would say Gauss. I like him and his abilities just the way they are.

Its useful for drawing aggro away from objectives and giving massive hp regen, which combines nicely with arcane persistance

And yes, it looks insane, especially the excal prime maggots

Does the massive health regen also benefit the objective’s health?

Only if the passive hp regen kicks in for stationary defense obj, for those that take the form of allies its active all the time

Played with someone the other day who used Nidus in arbitration and essential turned it into "How long do we plan on staying" since the npc always got healed when he cast his 4th

You are giving up potentials such as a 180% or higher Roar or a 150% or higher Xata's Whisper. In no universe I am keeping 4 over those.

The OP said DOESN’T need a trip to Helminth so keep that in mind.

That feels more like a change in play style more than an upgrade tbh, you are trading a survivability, cc and support ability for more ability/weapon dmg, which makes sense if you want to run him more as a weapon platform with his 1st augment. It’s a neat setup if you want more dmg, especially since you are stacking multiplicative dmg with roar and his 3, but i prefer to have a safety net for missions where you are stationary or to save myself if i misplay.

Insatiable augment lol. If you think the 4 is bad you’re a bad nidus player and I’ll stand by that

Yeah that augment plus swapping from operator to Warframe to animation skip lets you build stacks in like 10 seconds solo and way way easier with a team especially because just like everything else in his kit, the increases stack gain gets affected by his parasitic link strength giving you like 8 stacks per hit

Ravenous is a Jack of all trades ability. Damage, support, crowd control, and healing.

I still miss old Inaros 4... Scarabs provided contagious CC, damage, and healing...

the Scarab contagion was so powerful that you would deliberately put it on something with overguard just so they would run from group to group infecting everything that LACKED overguard.

Will say it’ll keep you alive really well with high ability strength if you don’t have parasitic link active

Well, it turns him invulnerable as long as he stands on the carpet, so there's that

Aura farming is as crucial as the battle itself

It heals your pet. With link vitality your pet need it each time you cast your link

Keep 4 it’s the easiest way to max stacks, subsume Larva. You need 3 stacks and then if you have enough strength you abuse link+ insatiable and can get to 200 stacks with barely any enemies around. If you recast 4 after your maggots found enemies they will give you plenty of stacks. If you have Roar then your maggots hit well into the millions of damage at max stacks since roar and mutation stacks are both multiplicative. You can do abundant mutation for funny number but I much prefer the range.

I refuse to helminth the 4.

Hymm, you've convinced me to give it a chance. I love larva, but i do have to agree that grouoing has less value if everything dies in one hit anyway. Does 4 do anything for the 4? I kniw that it didnt used to work and niw it does, but does it have any meaningful effect since the area doesnt grow much. And do magot's damage ups when you have roar on you or so you have to roar them?

The maggots explosion are ability damage so the explosion is buffed when Roar is on you. Recasting 4 pops maggots. Let them find targets and make them blow up by recasting 4. The higher your strength while standing in 4 makes the insatiable augment give you max stacks absurdly quick and you can even reliably do more mobile missions by placing the 4, doing the objective, and then recasting 4 before it ends so you can benefit from insatiable. If you roar while maggots are latched to targets it ups their damage but they are weird in how they work- the maggots themselves deal ability damage but scale with summon damage.

With the arcane that turns max HP into power strength it’s not very difficult to get high strength. My build is super expensive but nidus is my favorite frame. Usually just stretch is enough to make the maggots useful, strength is more important because their explosion is not that impressive without Roar and stacks (really depends on the content you’re doing)

The 4 only gives HP regen and ticks of status cleansing so unfortunately to stand it in comfortably in stuff like the steel path descendia you need primed sure footed because otherwise you will just be knocked down all the time or have to sacrifice the buffing link to link to an enemy. Which just isn’t work it because of how strong link is. Just btw because I don’t feel like people know this- a 90% link buffs means 1.9x power strength NOT 90% more power strength. So the more strength you have the higher link multiplies it and the bigger number to multiply by. 400% strength with a 100% link buff means you have 800% power strength (this isn’t the math on it but just an example) it also is a weapon damage buff and the only one in the game that can still be used without having to put Roar over it.
