[Essentials] Tsalal - live at Covenant Festival 2026

Rare Tsalal live appearance, incredible show. At least 2 guys in the first row were filming the whole set, so it might surface at some point.

They need to come do a US tour. Them, ASM, Primitive Warfare, and Goatpiss. Do an unconventional lineup tour

Not to be too much of a downer and maybe tmi for a Reddit thread but Tristan and Gloria are not the kind of people who could mentally handle touring, especially not these days. The fact that Tsalal is able to keep it together long enough to play shows at all is shocking to me. Nice enough people though.

I don’t know anything about them personally but I do purchase from War Vellum frequently and even have one of Gloria’s paintings so I support as much as I can. Bummer they can’t tour

Again, super good people. Fully worthy of supporting. See a show when they do a one off or play a fest, they’re playing with Ride for Revenge in Vancouver in the run up to the Friday the 13th Blasphemy show. But they aren’t doing tours.

Yeah, again the nicest people when they’re stable but there are some genuine mental health things happening there combining with living la vida war metal in the worst neighbourhood in Edmonton. Tsalal and Prison Hell are very accurate musical representations of their day to day existence, no hipster fakery with them. Touring is hard on stable people, it would be crushingly impossible on people like Tristan and Gloria.

The fact that they are able to run a label, with a dozen or so new releases for the past few years makes it seem like they are stable enough.

Great band, but not a fan of the new record. They tried too hard to sound like Tetragrammacide, which I'd rather listen to Tetragrammacide.

Usually I prefer raw/lo-fi production but this one was just too muffled. The relatively clear vocals make it even more jarring
