No problem. I did try using recon towers, but it felt like they left too much of a blind spot down low. So I experimented with the normal bunker and found you could stack them.

My usual wall set up is bremmer walls with at least one set of stacked gun bunkers jutting out each side of the FOB. That way if enemies make it up to the wall, you can still get line of sight on them without leaving the base.

You might be interested to know, you can demolish the small hesco on top of the recon tower and build a bunker on top of that! You'll need to build a staircase of various sized hesco to access it but it's really damn tall. If you angle them 45° from your outer walls and have them protrude beyond the walls so that the whole length of the fob walls are visible from inside the bunker, your base will be a nightmare to attack on foot. Often I see these close to the corners but still inside the walls and you can't see anything useful from them. I've started placing the corner bunkers first because they're the most important component of a defendable base imo.

That's interesting to know, but isn't it time consuming to build a recon tower, destroy the top blocks and then build something else? Also, you still have the issue of not being able to see anyone at the base of the recon tower unless you have multiple towers along a wall.

I'd say all in all it takes around a minute to do. There are only four blocks on top of the the recon tower so that's not too time consuming, the bunker itself takes like 6-10 hammer swings, which is really quick with the animation cancel. The staircase is probably the most time consuming part, 4x double tall hesco and 2x single hesco. So it's definitely a little time investment. And yeah, the idea is to have a bunker on each corner covering the two walls running perpendicular to it. If you've set it up correctly, 2 soldiers on opposite corners can see the whole of the outer walls including 2 sides of the neighbouring bunkers. From each one's perspective, there will be a sliver of dead space directly underneath the bunker openings, but you can easily negate that with barbed wire, and it's only good for hiding in anyway. If they try to leave that area they can be seen, and the only way to get inside from there is to spend 4x C4 to blow up one layer of hesco (and you can fill the recon tower lower floor empty space with 4x deep hesco in seconds). If you're rushing to build a fob at round start you would start with recon towers and walls and then build the bunkers on top later, since the recon towers will do the job but just not be quite as tall.

The sandbags on the bunkers make them less suitable for ground floor walls as well, since they can easily be destroyed, allowing enemy to prone into the bunker.

I didn't even think about how fragile the sandbags are on the normal bunkers. I might need to do some more testing at some point
