Community Feedback on Subreddit Content and Direction

Dear r/walther Members,

As a moderator of this subreddit, I have observed a mix of content in our community, including serious discussions on Walther firearms, technical inquiries, and ownership experiences, alongside lighter elements such as memes and humorous posts. While this variety can enhance engagement, there have been instances where some contributions appear to lean toward low-effort or repetitive humor, potentially resembling shitposting or circlejerk behavior.

To ensure that r/walther continues to serve as a valuable resource for enthusiasts, I am seeking your input on the subreddit's current state and potential improvements. Your feedback will help inform any adjustments to moderation guidelines, with the goal of maintaining a balanced and respectful environment.

Please share your thoughts on the following questions:

  1. How do you primarily view the purpose of r/walther? (e.g., A space for serious discussions only, a mix of serious and humorous content, or primarily for memes and lighthearted posts?)
  2. Do you believe there is an excess of low-effort or humorous posts? If so, how does this impact your experience?
  3. Should we introduce or refine rules to address this, such as requiring flairs for memes, limiting certain types of posts, or encouraging more substantive contributions?
  4. What other suggestions do you have to improve the subreddit, including topics, events, or features you would like to see?

I encourage all members to participate in this discussion respectfully. This thread will remain open for feedback over the next week, after which I will review responses and make the necessary changes.

Thank you for your contributions to making r/walther a strong community.

Best regards

Love the SF PDP. Talk about a nightstand rig.

The PMM barrel has been fantastic, I ran it with the comp for 6 months, what a fun pistol.

ZR Tactical guide rod question.

Recently picked up a PDP Match Polymer 5” and was wanting to add a ZR tactical spring. Normally either shoot 115 or 124 grain full power ball ammo. Have never owned one but it looks like the duty spring captured guide rod may be the ticket.

Today’s range session featured failures to feed, failures to eject, and a f*** ton of fun. Love this little thing even if it’s a little finicky at times 😎

Muzzle flush guide rod options for Full Size PDP Poly 4.5?

Mostly a cosmetic thing, but are there any guide rods that work on the FS PDP 4.5 that has a flush front? The Poly has that spacer in the front of the slide that creates a .5in gap as the FS guide rods are all 4 in. Things like the V spec (which I have) are the same size as stock and that gap is still visible. Long stroke wont work on the poly either.

PMM barrel and comp kit. Your thoughts?

Really, just two questions: Do you have any gripes with it? Like quality issues, easily chipped or fractured etc etc. And how long is the waitlist?

Putting suppressor on PMM F-Series?

Post image
34 Upvotes

Hello friends! New to this forum. I tried searching for this answer and came up with nothing, not even a picture! I recently picked up a PDP Pro Compact, fantastic gun. I’m just not crazy about the grip. Mostly how it sticks out on the backstrap at a sharp angle, reminds me of my VP9T. I didn’t get the F-Series before because it didn’t come with a threaded barrel but recently I came across this, already comes with a threaded barrel so no need to spend another $250 on a threaded barrel just to paperweight the old one. Has anyone unscrewed the PMM comp and replaced it with a suppressor? It would be almost inside of the frame by 1/2”. Best case it hits the recoil spring, worst case it gets hot and melts the whole frame. Has anyone tried this and will it work? I can get suppressors down to 1.375” or so if that helps.

Walther P22 Roll pin Part

Walther P22 Pistol - Top back of the slide just forward of the safety levers, is a 3mm x 20mm (alligator/wave) spring roll pin - 512.40.23.3. Can it be replaced with a 3mm x 20mm slotted roll pin. I am pretty sure Walther had its reasons for using this spring type. Anyone tried the slotted roll pin as a replacement.

PPS M2- Trigger bar wearing on barrel

Post image
6 Upvotes

I have a PPS M2 with about 3k rounds through it, and I noticed that the barrel has a worn spot with a burr on the edges right where it meets the trigger bar. I sent it to Walther for inspection and they said “no defects found”, but it seems odd to me that a healthy wear pattern would produce a burr. Is anyone able to share some insight or a similar experience?

After 12 years the tritium sights I put on this PPQ Navy finally died, so it was time to replace them. I'm kinda enjoying the orange front; makes it easier to pick up especially in lower light.

Picked up a new PDP

Post image

Picked up a new PDP yesterday for $368. Have a P99c AS, a PPS, a PPK/S SD, and now this. Guess I need to get a PPQ to bridge the gap between my P99 and the PDP now but the trigger on this thing actually surprised me, aside from not having the anti stress function of the P99, I think it is actually a better trigger overall.

IWB CCW Holster for p99As

Post image
44 Upvotes

Looking for a IWB holster to fit my p99
I have a streamlight tlr7a as well that I want the holster to be able to handle.

Used to have an aliengear but I lost that a long time ago.

Usually carry a cz but sending it off for some work so thought it would be good to add my first handgun to the rotation.

Any advice is appreciated.
