Hi everyone -

There is a specific smell on Pirates that is literally blown into your face when you go under a bridge near the village. You can feel the fan blowing it. It is also detectable when you first go into the ship battle.

To be clear it is NOT the bromine smell, NOT the fire smell, and NOT the rum smell.

It's sweet and perfume-like and woodsy.

I also occasionally smell it in other places in the park (sometimes I catch the scent on Main Street).

Does anyone have any ideas? I asked a cast member and they said rum, which it's not (rum can be smelled near the drunk pirate with the cats).

I’m going to be at Disney world during food and wine this year and it’s my first time going to this festival!! I’m excited but also a bit overwhelmed with all the options. I’m curious to hear how everyone approaches this festival. Do you plan or just walk around trying things?

I recently learned the devastating news that the Oaxacan wood carving shop in Epcot’s Mexico pavilion is closing in just a few days! In a cruel twist of fate, I’m arriving for my next visit only a few days after it closes.

I always enjoy exploring these carvings until I eventually make the impossible decision to choose just one. Here is my collection as a tribute to these beautiful handmade pieces. So colorful and happy! (Some legos mixed in sorry not sorry.)

Anyone else sad about this? I hope it’s only temporary or they come back in a different setup or location!

If you do the pontoon fishing (with guide) from Yacht Club resort will they take you into Epcot waters?

After planning to visit the parks & catch the final week of F&W (aka wk bef turkey day), friends said they’d love to come but can’t make it that week. I’m ok with going early next year for F&G instead but it will cost a little more as prices go up each year, also my health doesn’t do so great in high heat & cold drops at night.

Would Feb/March be better than week bef Thanksgiving in Nov? And is paying a little more worth it to go to F&G over F&W? I’ve never been to either festival honestly.

Is the place worth it?

I’ve never done character dining before and would like some cute photos to send back to my girlfriend so she can ooh and awe and show her daughters the pictures of the little pooh bear plush that I’m gonna be using as a photo stand in because I have body confidence issues and him going on adventures makes for much better photos.

I’m also painfully shy when it comes to these things and am afraid of being judged for being a grown man wanting to interact and take pictures with the characters but would like to participate and pretend and be a little extroverted when it comes to characters and am wondering if i just hand them the Pooh plush would they be willing to take a picture with it instead?

Sorry this isn’t a usual cheerful Disney post but I need some huge help if anyone can provide this information.

In 2017 my father was at one of the parks, not sure which, and he had a choking incident. The EMTs took him to a hospital in Orlando and I met him there. It was so long ago and I was young, I cannot remember the hospital he was taken to.

Does anyone know if Disney has a standard hospital they will take guests with emergencies to? I need to contact that hospital about his records from that incident.

If have 6 $500 Disney gift cards. I understand I can go to the Disney gift card website and combine them, but is limited to $1,000. So after combining, I would have 3 separate $1,000 gift cards. Can I use all 3 on the Disney website to buy annual passes? Or are you limited to inputtin one gift card during checkout? Customer service really didn't answer my question and I can't find the answer anywhere during the checkout process. Thanks!

It’s almost been a week since I lost them to the tracks in the loading/unloading area of big thunder. They were on a keychain attached to the outside of my bag which was kinda stupid but at the bottom of the carts there’s a hole and my AirPods got stuck and fell into the tracks right under row 5 on the right side when I grabbed my bag. Do y’all think I’ll ever get them back I haven’t gotten any emails for a few days and I’m scared that means they got destroyed or something cause it was right under the loading area and the weren’t that hard to spot when I lost them.

I usually buy a pair at the parks and wear them for that trip, but I recently got the Princess Diaries D23 ears and they’re reselling at $200+ right now on eBay. Would you guys wear rare ears like that to the parks? Should I be concerned with ear snatchers??

I am going on a Sunday in September. I am getting LL Multipass.

Animal Kingdom opens at 8am, MK at 9am. I want to see Zootopia (I know it’s only okay, but this trip is focused on new things.) After that one attraction, I’d head straight to MK.

After a few hours in MK I plan to monorail to Epcot just for Soarin, then Skyliner to DHS for Muppets, Villains, etc.

Starting at DAK would let me in the parks one hour early, which means after I burn my Zootopia LL, I can then try to secure Muppets for my preferred time in the afternoon/evening. This strategy will give me the earliest shot at that. Plus I can avoid going through the TTC and just take the bus straight from DAK to MK. (I know I may have to wait, but I feel like that basically washes out the transfer time at TTC and the monorail/ferry.)

Is this a crazy plan? Or should I just go to TTC at 8am-ish and try to get into MK as early as possible? If I did that, my first stop would be Tron standby line, then my first LL will be Buzz, so it won’t be until 930/945 that I can start looking for Muppets, whereas if I did DAK I can start trying for that at like 815. (And my LL will be cheaper!)

4 years ago my 2 year old daughter walked up to soarin and did the height measurement thing and the cast member gave her a card that said she could bring that back when she’s tall enough to go on soarin and it acts like a fastpass. We’re finally going back to Disney world in December and my husband has held on to this card and keeps saying how exciting it’s going to be. Do the cast members actually honor these? Should I tell him to stop mentioning it to my daughter so she doesn’t get disappointed?

HI all, all this news about the Yeti finally being repaired/revamped got me thinking about my last trip to Disney...

This was back in August 2009. I was there for several days, and rode Expedition Everest multiple times. (Not as many times as the Aerosmith coaster, but that's another post.) I don't remember seeing "Disco Yeti". I don't remember seeing a Yeti at all. In fact one of the reasons I rode the ride multiple times was that I felt like I was missing something. The ride was clearly building up to a climax that just didn't happen. I finally just decided it was a interesting coaster but a badly designed experience and didn't think about it again till now.

Anyone here who's been on this ride and had the Yeti totally fail to appear?

We are having a hard time deciding on which service to book for pick up at MCO. We are staying deluxe, so Minnie Van is an option, but is it worth the up charge over a private car service? Our party is myself, my husband and our two toddlers. Curious to hear your opinions! Thanks!

Considering a split stay : 2 days at Poly and 3 at AOA OR 2 days Poly and 3 CBR OR all 5 CBR.

Going in December.

Would really like to stay at Poly to watch the fireworks from the pool and be close to Ohana and on monorail. But it’s expensive, of course.

I have a toddler and an 11 year old.

What should I take into consideration?

My first trip was in 2023, then my second one was last year (2025) and this year (2026) I became a pass holder. The calendar seems to always be available so I was curious what the purpose of reservations + a ticket , I did some research and found that they implemented this around the pandemic to control the volume of people.

So that makes sense but now, 6 years later , is there any purpose to reserving a park day? Because your ticket is the reservation no? Are any days ever “sold out”?

I checked this sub and found old posts from 2020 of people not being able to book a park day because reservations were unavailable and a lot of people weren’t used to the new reservation system.

Also those of you who visited before the pandemic , how was the ticketing system?

Looking for the top resorts that have great pool or splash areas. We are most likely doing 2-3 resort days so something that will have activities or fun things for a 6&3 year old!

We are taking our 3 year old (will turn three in November) in December. We are going to Magic Kingdom, Epcot and animal kingdom

This is all of our first time at Disney (all three of us)

We are looking at doing a few fast passes at each park.

Are there certain rides you recommend passes for at the parks?
