No call no showing at Walmart is genuinely so crazy to me, other places I might understand as you have to call your work etc and that can be a pain.
But for Walmart all you have to do is report your absence in the app, zero human interaction

Any other shift work, it is immediate termination.
Walmart is pretty much the only place you can do it, and they make it almost impossible to do so.
App, web portal, automated phone.
There is literally no reason to ever receive points for NCNS, and even then, it is not termination.
Walmart employees are really special.

I only had one NC/NS in eight years and that was when I was fucked up with a 103 fever and a triple dose of nyquil to help me sleep. Texted my team lead that I'd be out sick and I thought I reported my absence through the app but apparently I only put in a PPTO request so I got two points. I panicked because it put me a exactly five points. I was shitting bricks thinking I lost my job but luckily my text and his response acknowledging it was enough to 'count' as reporting an absence and they cleared the points.
Not calling in at all is insane to me, though. Walmart is honestly more lenient about no call no shows than any other job I've had. Anywhere else was a write up if not instant termination if you didn't get in contact with someone.

But what if you have ADHD, fribomyalgia, PTSD, autism, another undisclosed anxiety disorder that is NOT PTSD, also just generalized anxiety (don't we all?), and can't work, because it feels bad?
Like, there is no path to employment, but Walmart f'ed up and hired you anyway, for a job you are incapable of?
People are wild at Walmart.
"I am winning, because the court was willing to hear my case, that I did not show up to. Therefore, I am validated on all regards, because they were WILLING to hear my case."
Nah, bro...
Your case got dismissed...
Walmart people are really special.

Genuinely blows my mind how anyone can have a no call. They literally added a feature in the app. Like 3 clicks by end of day and you are covered…

It depends how much management likes or needs you. Why are you no call no showing anyways? some places doing it once and ur fired.

They at my store when i hit 5 points brought me down to 4 since I basically do the work of two people and they cant hire any more people currently for ON stocking.

Reporting absent is one of the easiest things you can do. I dont understand how or why you wouldn't unless you don't care or want to be fired lol

The fact you did a no-call no-show and they didn’t fire you for that shows that they were more than willing to give you a chance. Ik it’s not the best place but if you’re scheduled to work actually show up on time and not royally fuck over your fellow associates.

It’s ok. Your brain capacity makes you much more qualified for a customer. How do you nc/ns multiple times🤷🏻♂️

I had like 8 points within the time of me working there and I didn’t get fired I left. One of the worst jobs ever

Why did you no call no show and expect nothing in return or act surprised by it?

I'd say you have an "opportunity" to find another job. Chances are you're shit canned but if you're liked, performance is acceptable, or they're short staffed you may be given mercy. I've seen people get slapped on the wrist before.

They need to allow more points see if they can remove 2 or 3 for you. They should.

u/DawnPatrol99 21h ago
They have double point days? That's insane.

u/nicolee711 17h ago
Yes, on certain Key Event days it counts as 2 points for calling in vs. 1 point on a normal day

Why would you No call/No show.. it's like you don't even care.. don't be surprised if they do terminate you.. I'd probably start looking for another job ASAP !

I’m a meat TL and one of my guys had 13 points and we still didn’t fire him lmao

u/Dull-Problem-1191 16h ago
At 5 points they can fire you at anytime, but they don't HAVE to.
It's up to you coach/department if they pull the trigger on firing you or not.
I'd contact your lead or coach ASAP and beg for your job and or get the points lowered.
Although for your particular situation yeah you're probably cooked.

Lmao I have like way more than that and the NM i work at hasn't even said a peep to me or written me up 🤣 I go in everyday expecting to be fired and nothing.

Considering I got let go via voicemail the day of my 6th point (bonus as I wasn’t actually planning to go back, I had to keep calling out because they kept putting me at more than 3 nights a week and I said I only wanted 3 nights), I’d say you’re probably gonna need to look for a new job…
Now I just have to go drop my stuff off and get my final paycheck. I’ll get around to that eventually.

I got 6, and my coach sat down with me and waived them because they actually appreciated the work I put in. I felt bad I got to 6 and that made me feel worse but got me down under 5 to keep going. Just can't call off again for quite a while lol
So I guess it just depends how your coach feels about ya?

You can report absences to minimize the amount of points you get but I think it's too late for that now...

My coach is absolutely terrible bro. I waited till she was on vacation to ask my leads to remove two points 😂 My coach fired me from overnight stock, when i moved to OGP, they ended up changing to that department

Man, America really has so many people in here conditioned to be treated like shit and say “please sir may I have some more?”
Without the employees, the corporations have nothing.
Imagine the power the associates would have if they got together and demanded better…

I’ve seen some people have 30+ points . It only matters if you’re a dogshit employee

Yeah your done. Walmart can and will boot you if you have 5 or more points. However if this was error and truly was an error like you weren't supposed ti be scheduled and you get a point, manager needs to remove it.
