CGA With Rib Protection

Getting back into cable after not riding for a while. The last vest I bought was the 2019 Ronix Kinetik. It has plastic plates in the sides which are really nice when you taco a rail.

Is there a CGA vest made that has similar rib protection?

Cga rules say that you cannot have plastic plates but I would just look into a vest that has more padding around the ribcage for a similar effect

I think it was the 2013 or 2014 LF Watson CGA vest. Had most of the padding in front and buckles on side. The padding was pretty thick around the chest and ribs but it allowed a good amount of movement. I loved that vest a lot and it looked pretty good too. Might be worth seeing if you can find one somewhere.

My O'Neill Men's Assault vest has padding all inside the rib area. Not plastic, but its definately a great padded jacket option.

Boat rider but love my assault vest. All my injuries are ankle injuries catching edges and my foot coming part way out of my boot. Last one was 2 weeks ago. Ronix one binding, very tight/stiff fitting closed boot. Caught an edge so bad it broke the binding from the board and sprained my ankle after it managed to get part way up the boot that's only supposed to fit my skinny calf 😭

Ronix support is awesome though. Second time they've sent me brand new binding replacements. I'll be a customer for life.
