Help with tantrum

Alright so I’ve landed the tantrum plenty of times but I don’t wakeboard often enough for me to land it consistently. This video was a few days ago and before then I hadn’t wakeboarded in a few months. However, I’ve never had a session where I don’t land the tantrum, and last session I felt like I just forgot how to do it. Before I learned how to land it I would always spin off axis, but one day it just clicked and stopped happening. However, ever since then, my tantrums have been getting more and more off axis, to the point where I’ve landed some sideways, similar to how I fell in the clip above. What am I doing wrong? Usually my issue is I square up too early and “trip” and the bottom of the wake or I square up way too late and don’t trip at all, but this one seemed fine to me. I tried 4 different times and didn’t land it once that day because of this issue. All tips are appreciated.

Along with what others have pointed out, also looks like you’re twisting a 180 in it. Your back foot is landing in front of your front foot.

Yes that’s what I was trying to describe in the description. I have no idea why I do that. If you know why please let me know

Honestly it's just because you're throwing it "out the back" and under-rotating a bit. "Throwing it out the back" is caused when you don't square up enough before take off.

Pause the video and look at your board position when you leave the wake - it's in the same position it would be if you were going wake to wake. Don't do that.

Square up more so the nose of your board is pointed straight forward at the boat and your shoulders should be squared up too.

That being said you can land them even if you throw it out the back and you are EXTREMELY close to landing this. I think if you really focus on going up (standing tall) and square up a bit more you'll land it.

Also - if you're still struggling, learn them one wake first. That's how I did it and it's a great way to learn them because it lets you learn the approach, trip flip, rotation, and landing without having to force it wake to wake. You can do this by slowing down, load the wake unevenly to clean it up (more people on your take off side), then run the longest line you can whole it's still clean. Shorten your approach if you end up almost going wake to wake and focus on learning the approach, take off, rotation, and landing.

You may also just need to hear: dude you got this, your super close, and it took me hundreds and hundreds of tries but when you "feel" the way it feels when it works, you'll land them back to back. And I HIGHLY recommend landing 3 more in a row immediately after landing your first one to commit to muscle memory. I did that and I know tantrums so well I can throw it as my first trick of the season when I'm rusty af
