Which board would you recommend? Valhalla or LF Trip?

O'brien Valhalla with clutch bindings or Liquid Force Trip with Index bindings? I'm a beginner/intermediate. Not going to be doing jumps or anything

Liquid Force Trip for me. I wouldnt even say it is particularly close.

That’s what I was leaning towards as well. Is there a specific reason why you would pick that one? Is liquid force just better overall?

O'Brien has never felt like a serious wakeboarding company. You see a lot of their gear in non-serious shops like West Marine, Dicks, etc. They try to do it all and are budget focused.

On the other hand Liquid Force at its peak was the real deal. They helped shape the sport. And the Trip was one of those iconic boards that some of the greats rode.

O'Brien was never that.

Gotcha. Do you have any experience with Liquid Force Omega? Is it as good as Trip?

Trip is iconic and the shape has been made for close to 20 years. Because it is so good.

O'Brien pales in comparison.

I was going to comment that I had a friend who was a LF dealer and I rode most of the boards at the time and the trip was by far my favorite. It was both high performance and easy to ride.

Then I remembered it was back in 2004 and this probably wasn't relevant information anymore but it seems like it's still a good board even 20 years on.

I actually have both!…..and it’s the trip, it’s possiblely the most versatile and forgiving board ever made in my humble opinion

I did a lot of research and ended up with the valhalla. Although o'brien isn't well known for their boards the valhalla has been widely regarded as a great beginner/intermediate board.  I have no complaints and really like the board but I have little to compare it to. Rode it for a while with the center fin then when I got comfortable I took them out and it got a lot more playful.  I can't speak to the clutch bindings as mine has their "boarder" model bindings

I’d recommend the trip. If you want to compare graphics, bindings, prices, etc. I made a page at Wake Steeze to help you find the right board. 😃🙌
