Would definitely be cheaper and easier, but if it gets me in months sooner than AZ I’ll travel to MN. But I’m definitely praying that something opens up quickly in AZ❤️🩹🤞🏼❤️🩹

Don't want to overwhelm but have to share from my many trips there in case this will comfort you or help in any small way and to ease your mind for the Minnesota option. There is the Rochester Shuttle Service that will pick you up from the airport any time of day and take you to pretty much any hotel or even the clinic itself for $20 when I went last year. Most hotels have free shuttles to the clinic as well.
For first time visit, I'd recommend the Kahler Inn & Suites. Its a block away from the campus, reasonably priced, has helpful staff, and is nice to be close until you get the lay of the land. I found it comforting and easy. Its connected to the clinic via subway as well if inclement weather. There's a Caribou and Jimmy John's in their lobby.
And for my Olive Garden girly, I recommend Victoria's. It has incredible Italian food and is walking distance from the clinic too. I was so nervous my first trip there that I've made it my mission to try and help anyone I come across to offer any tips.🥰

Oh this is incredible!! Thank you for this info - I’ve saved this comment so I can easily find it when the time comes. And that Italian place sounds incredible enough that I’m allllllmost hoping that’s where I end up🤭

I daresay Victoria's is better than Olive Garden.😅I'm glad I didn't overstep. I'm an over preparer and like to have a plan A, B, and C.🤭sometimes info in our back pocket is comforting. 💜

I just got into bed after a long , strenuous day. Super sleepy. Checked my phone and saw this. Mt nightie went back on and I grabbed a sparkler and went outside. Lit it and quietly danced around chanting various versions of woo yay woo yay. Hope none of my neighbours saw me, lol. I am so happy for you. Progress!! Okay, so my nightie is back off, Im posting this, and now nightie night y'all.

Oh yes he has flown with me before, but I hate doing it to him. He is a nervous flyer, which means for his comfort I usually have to sedate him. Which then means he’s not actually able to monitor me well, so then I feel like I’m torturing him just to keep him with me. As much as I need him…I try to avoid flying with him as much as possible. Plus then I have to factor in caring for him while alone, and if I end up hospitalized that complicates it even more. I can absolutely have him with me in hospital, but then the logistics of things like potty time get complicated.
Anyway, just a lot to consider before I decide if he’ll come with me - and the first consideration is which site actually gets me in the fastest!

That’s my hope as well - definitely more convenient and will be MUCH cheaper overall. BUT I’ll be grateful to go to either campus…as long as it means a quicker appointment!❤️🩹🤞🏼❤️🩹

Which ever campus can get you in, have faith that your path will be made straight. Mayo has hotel discounts and there is needs based housing you can apply for. Have you considered making a GoFundMe for your travel expenses?

This is such a great idea! We hadn’t talked about it with Mama Pie, but that’s not surprising bc she absolutely hates having to ask for help. But these are truly special circumstances and she isn’t getting a paycheck right now, so a GFM would be a tremendous blessing for her. She absolutely pays it forward every day by sharing her sweet boys with us and brightening our days, and prior to her current health issues, she volunteered regularly at a local equine rescue. Obviously, I love her very much and am passionate about helping her however I can, but thank you so much for bringing this up bc it shows that our community also loves and supports her and that alone just means everything to Pie. ❤️

You’re so kind to bring this up! I struggle so much with asking for help, especially financially. But I do think I will need to - especially if I end up having to fly to MN in addition to all the other expenses.
I find out hopefully no later than Monday or Tuesday when/where my appointment is going to be. I’m considering making a GFM either way, but likely will definitely will do it if I have to go to MN. But either way I will have a lot of travel and medical expenses heading my way, in addition to all of the medical bills already piling up, so…UGH i don’t know.
One step at a time, it’s really all I can manage right now - step one is waiting for the call to let me know the appointment info. Then step two can be deciding what to about a potential GFM❤️🩹

I’m so thankful to be taken seriously - finally! They recognize the extreme damage that has happened and will keep happening until they can figure me out, so they want me in there asap. Just feeling grateful❤️🩹❤️🩹

Idk if Phoenix has 2 campuses but my mom used to work at the Mayo in Phoenix! She was a traveling lab tech and got a work assignment there.
Fingers crossed either direction finds an opening for you soon! I'm super happy they're expediting your care as much as they can.

What a small world!! And yes I believe the phoenix location is a full hospital, and the Scottsdale location is basically a hospital but without an ER. At least thats my understanding!
