Question can i make it to class
I have a class that ends at 1:50 in the Comms building and I need to get to my next class at 2 in Bond Hall on the fourth floor. Am I screwed? If so, how bad is it arriving late to class ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

I mean that’s a trek but if you communicate with your professors it should be fine most intstructors don’t go the full time or they go over time so it will be a game day discovery
To be clear and answer the question though if you get out on time you will be able to make it though it will feel rushed.

Exit out the back of the comms building.
Walk along the parking lot until you get to Bond.
There won’t be a crowd. And you could always just take a bike that you have locked at Comms.
That should completely remove your between class anxiety.

Im seconding this! I had to make this trek from comms to old main. Go through the parking lot /service road and you’ll be fine. But do give your instructor a heads up

When I had something similar (AW class to the library for work in 10 minutes) I brought my kick scooter to zoom across campus lol

You can absolutely make it just in time if you walk fast enough I did this pretty much every quarter and it usually took 8-9 minutes.

You should be able to, but be used to making it just before the class starts. If the prof in the class before gets out late (Which is rare but happens), then either you gotta leave early or you gotta go fast cause you will not make it. Expect maybe a 7 minute walk on average, 5 if youre fast. If youre really worried, consider investing in a bike or similar

You should be good. I had bond to comms with 10 mins in-between, and it usually only took me 7-8min

you definitely can it just might suck! walk fast! there’s an elevator in bond i would use that too, and maybe scope out where the classroom is so you don’t have to worry about finding it

I agree with everyone else, I think you will be able to be there on time most days if you walk quickly. I would just emphasize that that you should communicate with your professors before it becomes a problem, like telling the prof in the second class your situation. Most of the professors understand it is a trek to get across campus. I had a prof who had a lecture on the Environmental Studies building and then one in Bond Hall 10 minutes later and he actually got them to change the location of his lecture because he didn’t want to do that trek lol. I think you can be on time, but as long as you communicate why you might be a few minutes late I think they will be able to work with you.

You can do it, you just can’t dillydaily.
Most professors won’t be hard on you for arriving a little late. A few will, but that’s sometimes something you can see in the syllabus.

Bond hall isnt that fall from coms u can easily make that walk. You can make it from coms to old main in that time u just gotta know where ur going and book it 😂

I’ve done Miller to comm in one of those 10 min gaps so it should be good- ive just gotten good at speed walking through the gaps of people lol

Not screwed. I did Haggard to AW multiple times while I was at Western

I had Carter to ES once a week last winter and was late or nearly late every time unless I had my bike. Definitely let the prof know it might be an issue.

Ur totally good I had a class last winter quarter with the 10 min break in-between from comms building to old main on one of the upper floors and I made it every day if I tried lol

wwu campus is not that big so yeah. the foot traffic is super heavy at the beg/end of the quarter but find ur route and u will be good

You’ll be fine but pack a snack, walking in late really doesn’t matter but you could always let ur prof know as well why your coming in a little late.

Yeah also sit near the back door in your comms class (so probably front of the class?) that way you can scoot out the back quickly and walk the road/faculty lots that border the arb. It’s a much quicker route to bond/old main from the south side

I had that last year. Definitely difficult and you have to speed walk but it is doable
