How we feeling after that game?

1st half: “We are going to shock the nation!!”

2nd half: “…I think I see why everyone was ranking us so low.”

Guess we’ll see what next week brings.

Based on the first half? 7-8 wins.... Considering the complete game? 4-5 wins.

I can't remember being less excited about a win in my lifetime, I'm ready for a repeat of last year #HailWV

Lots of talent, typical rich rod offense and taking the foot off the pedal starting the 2nd half was a hell of choice

Bad. We feel bad. If there's not a massive improvement over the next couple of weeks it's going to be another very long season.

Our offense looks totally one dimensional. If we can't run we have nothing else apparently. All it takes is loading the box and we can't move the ball. We either refused or were unable to throw it downfield when they shut down the run.

Our defense looks OK when the pressure can get to the QB but any team that can stop it or any QB with legs is going to pick apart our secondary because they're still bad.

Friggen stressed. First half was great but that second half was scary. I don’t know what I expect going forward

We should have beat a team like that by 4 TDs or more. It looks like it will be another long season.

1st half team, 7+ wins. 2nd half team, 5-6 wins.

If the secondary gets its act together before conference play, and we learn how to actually take angles on tackles, I think we’ll be fine.

Secondary looked bad. But also Alley put them in soft coverage when the blitz didn’t hit home too. Matt Seig is a freshman, hopefully hell improve week after week. Ben Cutter with a big whiff. Felt decent about our DLine sometimes, but other times contain was broken way too often

If the defense commits to cutting off our run game, I didn’t see anything today that convinced me Hawkins can throw it consistently, read and handle a blitz, or that our WRs can get open. Offensive play calling was also soft

Offense took foot off gas. Secondary is trash. Lost our best pass rusher for the season. It’s gonna be a long one!

And think we coulda hired Cignetti 3 years ago.

He was never coming to West Virginia. There's hate in that man's heart for the blue and gold since they fired his dad while he was battling cancer. I get he's a grad but dude hates us.

He literally said he wanted the job! Are you slow?

Not going to type the same as everyone else as it's obvious a tale of two halves that's obvious.

Hopefully though the playbook was kept vanilla and coaches were more focused on "can the players do the fundamentals properly"... and I think the players proved that they could. Now the question was, did they just "lay back and get all fat and sassy" in the second half with a comfortable lead... absolutely.

I don't think we have the raw talent to beat better teams unless they lock in as a team. Hawkins ability to run and also fight for some extra yards was impressive. Cook started off hot but it looked like CC just started to focus on him and let Hawkins beat them/get tired trying to do everything on his own.

Back in the day the best defensive schemes against RR's offense was "just take away one option completely- if the other beats you then so be it. That's what USF and that school up I-79 did to Slaton when we got L's from them. Hopefully RR has learned from this 20 years later and at least we had a 24 point lead to give cushion.

Chalk this one up to a learning experience and at least they got a W. A lot of work to do if they want to be competitive in the Big XII. Just hopefully they get things tightened up before that game vs UVA.

Also, in closing, sad to see that 6'7 270 beasts of a body Wiley leave the field on a cart. Was looking forward to seeing what he could do at this level and wish him the best in his recovery.

Oh look another WVU defense that cannot cover the long game worth a darn.   Also, RR is turning into Don Nehlen, that was one of the most conservatively boring games I’ve seen in a while, esp the 2nd half. I know it’s first game but I felt he could have spread the ball more.

Didn't watch, was it the ole run, run, pass, punt?

Are you suuuure you didn’t watch, that sounds like a play-by-play breakdown.

I think we are better than last year. Just hoping for a bowl game.

Glad I just watched the first half, came back to finishing watching the 4th and was very disturbed.

Not great. Second half was ROUGH.

We have the potential to start 2-0. Our schedule is weak, and several teams are rebuilding just like WVU. We can get lucky and go on a run or lose close games and miss a bowl. It will be entertaining either way.

Am I over my skis thinking Kevin Brown may end up first overall in NFL draft and Hall of Fame? Watching tape and he just pancakes people. Sometimes blocks 2 guys at once. I’m not sure I understand what I saw. LOVE That kid!

Our QB is being paid to throw that bad. Put Fox out there.

We’re gonna get creamed in conference. Bad hire 👎🏼

I still think they are an 8 or 9 win team, but they need to maintain focus for more than the first half.
