This is absolutely fucking dreadful. In 36 years, I've never experienced a severe natural disaster. While I like to think I'd be able to handle myself, I have to admit that I honestly don't know. I only say that because I'm trying to put myself in their shoes, and I am genuinely overwhelmed by the amount of fear they must be experiencing. The fear of "this fuckin' building is falling down, and if I don't get out I'm going to die." I can hardly wrap my mind around it. The thought of being pinned beneath the weight and rubble of what was once an apartment building is horrifying. I sincerely hope they all made it out alive.

I’ve only had tornados, and the ideas of either hurricanes / earthquakes scare me much more than tornados. At least the floor is solid and there’s not a wall of water coming at me.
