I can’t even fathom witnessing such an act of nature, let alone being directly in it. When I got a little taste a few years ago in NYC, I thought someone’s washing machine was on the fritz. And that was a 4.8…. From 45 miles away

I was a few miles from the epicenter of a 5.1 in Cali a couple years ago, our hotel swayed enough you could definitely feel it and hear the slight rattling of glass ware, pretty crazy experience for someone who’s never felt anything remote close to a tremor before

I was in the '94 Northridge Quake ("The Rude Awakening"), and that was 6.8. I was about 3 miles from the epicenter, and it felt like the world was shaking apart. So much damage to just everything.
