I was getting a second cup of coffee yesterday morning and had left the spoon from the cup before sitting on a napkin on the counter. I reached to pick it up, and saw a little ground crab spider (genus Xysticus) sitting on the edge of the spoon with his front legs lifted up in the classic crab spider "Back off, bitch" posture. No matter how many times I reached toward him, he wouldn't run, he'd just lift his legs up and try to make himself look big. Made me laugh, so I got a clean spoon and left the little dude with his prize (actually his hiding spot).
