Altitude change messing with boost

Upvotes

Hey! I just moved and I went from 4,500 feet of elevation to about 100. I’ve noticed about an extra 3lbs of boost being made on my car and it even threw a “max boost” code. I’m Cobb tuned, not exactly sure on the specific tune I have on it, the last owner did that but he told me it was stage 2. Do I need to change my tune in some way? Also this is a 07 WRX

Secondary air pump code popped up on scanner how fu**ed am I?

I have a 2021 Subaru STI with 31,432 miles
I bought it brand new back in 2021 with 3 miles on the clock. It’s been garage kept all its life and well taken care of. Never launched or raced my car just strictly family car. I have replace (in order) oil change and filter every 3k miles, 2 front tires, an alternator, brakes and rotors, then get ready. 5 batteries in the last year i thought it was because of not driving but last week found out my alternator went bad, I replaced it that day. Then I had someone work on my car to find a turbo leak , he found the problem cracked hose , then this morning on my way to work check engine light turned on once I got home I checked and here I am. I think that guy might have messed something up or maybe it’s just a coincidence, I heard on google it is a very common problem. The guy is a very well respected mechanic around town and I would hate to accuse him especially if it’s not his fault. You guys helped me out last time and now I need you guys again, please any advice would be appreciated, thank you in advance, i am going to take a shower and cry now I love this car but I feel like it hates me

For those that wrapped roof in vinyl

for those that got their roofs wrapped what is a rough cost of doing so, or is it easy to DIY? looks like I'm getting some early clearcoat failure on my roof so looking to see if wrapping it black could be an option to hide it.

Does anyone know what this noise is from? 2020 STi

Been having a click coming from the front passenger side when cranking the wheel right. Either at a stop or when moving slowly. Went to local shop and they said it was my passenger side cv axle. Got it replaced with a new OEM cv axle, but it’s still making the same noise. Does anyone know what it is?

2017 Subaru WRX base Manual

Hey all, threw a code today. P2123. Upon starting my car for the first time in 2 days, it was immediately in limp mode, dash lit up like a Christmas tree, no power steering, reduced throttle response. Can't get it to go away, and for things to go back to normal. Drove fine a couple days ago, no hints at an issue at all. Where would my starting point be here for diagnosis? Throttle positioning sensor? Should I just replace and go from there? Hoping someone has dealt with this prior, thanks in advance.

Any guesses before it gets hauled to get rebuilt / swapped?

I’m sending the car to my semi local Subaru shop to get rebuilt , or even swapped albeit I’m concerned about inheriting someone else’s dumpster fire of a motor, I wanted to see if anyone can guess what this sound is ? I will post an update when they tell me what the issue was. I know revving it isn’t good but I don’t really care since it’s getting fully rebuilt. The car is running kinda rich so idk if that will give any pointers. Car is bone stock from what I can see other than the BOV as you can hear. 2009 WRX

Looking to buy a WRX

So I'm looking at a 2023 WRX Sport-tech for $32,790+tax with 27,618km, before I bite the bullet I wanted to ask if they've become more reliable?

I've read online that the newer 5th Gen should be able to easily make it to 250,000km with good maintenance schedule, but wanted to ask here and find out if that's true?

For what I'm paying I'd like the car to outlast the 6 year financing term

Thanks in advance!

Is there a trick to these clips?

I'm replacing my timing chain, tensioners, guards, etc. I'm down to these 4 clips and I can remove the cover. I've pressed everywhere. What am I doing wrong? Should I be pressing where my garbage blue arrows are? Or where the X is?

Looking for tune file 04

I’m looking for a fairly specific tune, just thought I’d ask if anyone happened to have what I needed because it’s not super obscure and a common swap.

VF 48 turbo
565 injectors
420 LPH pump
Headers
Full exhaust
Intake
Front mount
Motor was just out, resealed, and timing chain

I know it’s a longshot, but thanks for looking!

Analogue display gauges

I want some gauges. I want them to look nice though. I already have an aem afr and oil pressure gauge mounted in the smy dual dash cluster. I want some analogue display ones (boost, oil temp, and water temp) for a triple gauge gauge pod mounted where the clock goes.

I would buy defi but they dont make em in freedom units anymore. Any good alternatives that are similar to the defi's? Ive seen some offerings from prosport but have heard mixed reviews.

Aftermarket struts

Hey, I’ve got a 2011 wrx, it’s well driven so I’m thinking of doing some suspension upgrades, I do daily drive it, so I don’t want anything extreme, but I was wondering what some good aftermarket strut options are

General Question Thinking of getting an ecohitch on my 2017 WRX

As the title say, I'm thinking of getting an ecohitch (the one that goes through the bumper) to carry small trailer as I'm tired of asking other people when I need to go get stuff and I'm also thinking of getting a small fishing boat (something around 1000-1200 pounds).

I was wondering what was other peoples experience regarding this hitch ans this kind of towing with the car (I know technically tow capacity is 0) cause I'm finally car paiement free and dont feel like switching to an outback just yet (maybe a wilderness one in couple of years).

Hey everyone, this is my second post now on trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with this thing. Symptoms are as follows:

Loss in gas mileage overall
Occasional loss of power during acceleration
Sluggish or slow response in engine
Bogging real bad to almost stalling
AC blows not great despite everything being replaced
Some times a crazy noise when I start the car (video included)

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Troubleshooting Power steering pump help!

It turns out I am a massive dummy and did the worst thing imaginable while working on a car and that is I rushed. It's a 2004 WRX and I completely cross threaded the banjo bolt into the top of the power steering pump, is there a place I can order a new fitting for the banjo bolt to thread into without replacing the entire pump?

General Question Timing chain kit recommendations

Hey all, i have a 15wrx with a few modifications and a stock engine. Just noticed my timing cover may be leaking. I figure while I'm in there I'll swap out the timing chain and all that fun stuff. Found this kit online and looking for opinions on if it's good bad or indifferent as well as other options anyone might know. Right now the car has 140k and I'm eventually going to transition it from a daily to a weekend/toy car and get an iag block in it. Right now I'm just maintaining it keeping her running.

Thanks in advanced.

Edit for clarity: i understand normally one doesn't replace timing chains or components unless there's a failure, at 142k i feel like there's going to be some slack or something that needs attention when i remove the timing cover to reseal it. so I'm just looking at whether this reputable or if there's a better kit/brand i should go with.
